Friends just want to smoke weed everyday

Except those who fall ill and are strongly advised to take them by their doctor?
Addiction is bad in any form it true, Valium was a big one years ago, sleeping pills etc also , it's a bit different to someone who chooses to turn his brain into mush a ruin his life by smoking joints day in day out though.

Never had it and never will. Mate was in it for years and it has ruined his personality.

No.you wrong.
I know many people who as we speak are fucked on man made chemicals whose brains have turned to ,mush and in a couple of recent examples ended up taking theur own lives after adfiction to extra strong painkillers prescribed by folk who should know better, but perhaps only follow whwt they are taught at medical school
Any cursory glance of the side effects of some of these legally issued chemicals (ever heard of tramadol??) and you will see their capability to mess up our bodies.
Back to cannabis; sitting around smoking all day is not my idea of fun and as u say any addiction is not good..but when you compare say cannabis to the harm and muti death/injuries/broken homes induced by alcohol ,maybe you can see why the legal addiction in this partc narrow argument may be less appealing than the non legal.

First of all I'm sorry to hear of your losses Dennis and I agree with your sentiment, that people are not fully monitored whilst taking strong analgesia that can caused addiction, however I think its only fair to point out the most meds come with a leaflet about that medication. So there shouldn't really be a problem, unless you already have or have had an addiction and in that case I would say your GP should be aware and limit your prescription, sadly for a few they escape the safety net and find themselves on a downward spiral.

The major difference is weed doesn't come with any warnings, so the young and impressionable end up in a life changing problems.
