Just listening to the supporters club spokesman and he says most are resigned to it happening because the new owners are bringing financial stability and that outweighs what colour they play in.

I just don't understand why the club are doing it, is it really going to make much difference to them?

I read somewhere that in the 20's up to the late 40's City played in a cherry top with white shorts and cherry socks in cup games, and called it our LUCKY SCARLET :o/

i hadn't heard that. city did play in red shirts in the 1933 cup final because of a colour clash with everton. however, in the 1934 fnal they wore maroon shirts because of a colour clash with portsmouth.
