Agree regarding the Ref. He was very good today.
 
We need the fans more than ever v West Ham and Leeds. We can probably expect two more tired, distracted performances if we’re honest. So we need the fans to not spread too much nervy energy into the players.
 
Ground out the 3 points. At this stage, that's all that matters. Can't always play to the tempo we did on Wednesday. Looked knackered and disjointed, but now top of the league!!!
 
The very definition of an ugly win. A penalty and a worldie.

Haaland was exceptional. Stones was exceptional. If we look at it honestly we were poor for long stretches, and even then probably could have been 4-1 up.

Also - "wet fannies" in the match day thread. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with either side - but when did a wet fanny become a bad thing??
 
Midweek off too, for once, get the game killed off next Saturday with the big guns on then prepare for the Champions League, please and thank you.
 
It was all about getting 3 points today and we had to show character to grind that out.

Just look at the PL table now!

I think we should have made the subs 10 mins earlier than we did, but it worked out in the end.

We had a period in the second half where we were causing our own issues, with under hit and misplaced passes. The players are not robots though. They rode it out and did enough.

We had enough good chances to finish the game but their keeper made some great saves also.

I thought the ref was quite poor, Grealish got no protection at all. He was fouled consistently all game and most of the time he let them get away with it. That Tete is a ****.

That goal from Alvarez was top drawer!
