All things considered, I think that was a very good performance and obviously an excellent result.

Not sure you can ask for more than three points, away from home, against a decent team, to heap more pressure on Arsenal, with an few players rested, after the energy Wednesday would have drained from the lads.

Special note to Alvarez, who could turn out to be as big a steal as Haaland.

Only watched last 30 mins but we looked a bit sloppy and casual. Funnily enough, I thought Gundo was the worst offender - haha
 
Newcastle are going to dismantle Arsenal.
I also think we will drop some points before the end, but it won’t matter.

If Phillips isn’t trusted to start a semi final against a Championship side, he won’t be trusted in a league game.

That is the big concern about having Philips in the squad. This was the sort of game where he should be able to come on and help solidify the midfield - but Pep clearly doesn't trust him to so. I hope second season syndrome sets those doubts aside. On Lewis - I don't think Pep wants to expose him to that responsibility yet - and that is fine, but if he keeps progressing he will be fine there.

Just don't think pep fully trusts Philips at the moment that's why rodders plays week in week out....but I think Philips will have some part to play in next 2 league games ?

Yes and that will be another hard fought match. They keep coming round quick now so all the players need to try to keep as fit as possible and come through without injuries. WHU need points so will be up for it but with any luck we will put the lack lustre 2nd half behind us and be back on it. By the way, I’m not surprised we weren’t as good as v Arsenal, the players put so much into that game, it was always going to be hard to meet the same high press standards.

I know what you're saying but for the last 5 mins Gundogan couldn't run and just gave the ball away. Surely a fresh pair of legs could have helped.
 
Fulham are right up there as one of the most improved teams this year - they are well coached. Don't underestimate how good it was to get that win away from home. Their MOM was the keeper so even though it wasn't full flowing we still created a lot of decent chances. Kev having a rest to get over his niggles can only be a good thing. Thought Julien showed how you come in and make a statement performance.

Only gripe was we got a bit lazy with our passing from the back and Mahrez was invisible as an attacking threat particularly in the second half when he did have space to do his thing but always went for the easy option.

Jack as usual doing a good job at winding them up and despite not being at his best is vital to keeping possession as the pressure rises. Tete is horrible and got away with constant fouling all game so I do understand why Jack felt hard done to.

The midweek performance took a lot out of them emotionally so today goes down as the best possible result. Happy days, onto Wednesday.

Made hard work of Fulham , its a shame their players cheat their fans most weeks , if they put as much effort in every week they could secure a top half finish every season.
We were below par but still made half a dozen chances , reminded me of the Forest game the difference is Forest led a charmed life on the day , its all about the result , rotation , energy conservation , zero injuries and the points at this stage of the season and we ticked all those boxes.
 
Shutting it down with over 20 mins to go was brave but masterful from Pep. It paid off. Everyone is right about Rodders and Gundo being tired. Even Reuben and Akanji looked a bit brain faded towards the end. Collective team spirit kept us going. Onwards and upwards!
