Fulham (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Nunes plays like he’s kicking a balloon at times, he’s not a clue what he’s doing with it. That today when he ran it out of play was genuinely like watching an 8 year old with a blindfold on. The few diagonals Fulham played to Robinson he does a full spin trying to follow the flight. I just think he’s a bit thick personally, the pens he’s given away this season chasing his mistakes prove that. Athletic but a clumsy footballer and the least City player of the Pep era I’ve seen alongside that Doku, who was dreadful today, again. The quality has to improve to compete for the title and CL again. Full back, 2 midfielders & a top winger needed.
Yep we’ll never see the best of Haaland as long as Doku is playing. They have zero connection.

I actually thought Doku had a blinder first half
Watch the first 25 mins back before Fulham went in our half. I was in the Fulham end, had a good view and he received the ball about 10 times and hit their man with his aimless crosses / passes every time. Pep going mental, 2nd half honestly like a competition winner not sure how he lasted until 75 mins. If we don’t get a decent winger or just play Marmoush there we’ve no chance of getting back competing for the title/CL again.

That's what I saw. Not good enough for City. Neither is Nunes.

The demise of Manchester City was greatly overstated. 3rd place with 71 points, not bad for a shite season!

CL football secured, now breakout the transfer war chest.

Brilliant goal from Ilkay.

Thanks for everything Kevin, a pleasure to watch you in a blue shirt for 10 years.

The blues will be back in 24 days.
Spot on - final week of the season - two worldies in our last two games. By any normal metric - Cup Final and third and finishing above a few megabucks sides that we're told are having incredible seasons - isn't too bad. It's only disappointing from the perspective of the colossal standards of a normal season for us. But these guys are human - hollowed out by injuries as well.

It was only a shit season when compared to the few before. Our bar is incredibly high. We have to get used to not winning the title every year. Top 3 this season was very respectable without the ballon d Or and ongoing injury issues for Stones and Ake plus Kev benched in many games. No Bob. All in all we finished just behind the runners up. Pep will know what's needed to make a challenge next season. I have every confidence in him and the team.
Not to mention the PL player of the year last year could hardly do anything right the entire season. All those things add up to big hits.

I'll agree in part, but the fact we threw away so many games is what infuriated me most. Rags at home annoyed me far more than shipping three in quick succession v Feyenoord, chucking away a 2-0 lead at Brentford was almost as painful, and the performance at the swamp, where so many lesser teams have won this season was beyond belief.
Cup final and "only" third isn't the issue; the way we played and the mistakes we made regularly, are the problem for me.

Don't agree, if the season wasn't bad then no need for a war chest to be broken out..............

It was shite, thankfully it ended on a positive note and we can try and rebuild and compete next season. Up the blues
