Fulham (H) | PL | Post-Match Thread

People always seem to remember or notice the good more than the bad. Fulham did have one very good spell in the game but it was bad moments rather than lots of bad play that caused us problems, And no one should hide away from the fact that Pep is still working on improvements but we should have a bit of faith that, as he said post match, we will improve.

We must also have a huge war chest to go into the transfer market - although I guess there could be a couple of big targets for next summer that much of it is reserved for but then We should generate more cash this season and I hope they always have a contingency fund for unexpected requirements such as we have now.

About half City’s performances will be below average but the reaction of supporters when we have a below average game is often disproportionate.

I trust Pep will enjoy his break but will take some time to reflect on things and come back with a few important tweaks.
We need a refresh in midfield. We have 4 over 30. Rodri out for a season and only Phil and Nunes fit and under 30. If Pep gets anywhere near the standards of previous seasons he will certainly earn his salary.

I think the large transfer pot City are sitting on is intended for that refresh. Problem is that we have great but aging midfielders who are not rushing out of the door.

Some hard decisions may need to be taken next summer.

In the meantime, we must buy a young(ish) midfielder in January.

The game is over the Referee has blown the final whistle and the Penalty shoot out is to see who goes through, I can see why you and many many others would think you lose the game but, you don't, you lose the Penalty shoot out.

The tie is over 2 legs and even if the game ends in a draw you need pens to finalise the result

i think that ricci might be one to keep an eye on with this.

Tell you what. Just watching the match now. That Fulham side will take points off more than a few, including our rivals, this season. I'd put good money on it.
Traore definitely — definitely — should have put them 2-0 up. Fast runner. Lucky that he's so shit at finishing, eh?
Tell me when it happens.
