Fulham (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Same old story. Very good first half, quite poor 2nd. Too many miscontrols, poor passes and even poorer decision making at times. It's weird how differently we play the 2nd half compared to the first. Fortunately, we had done enough 1st half for it not to really matter but it is something that needs sorting out.

Some good performances out there though. Foden looked more lively, Guehi made a few mistakes vbut was otherwise solid and Semenyo scored, assisted and ran himself into the ground. Nice goal for O'Reilly and Haaland too. Dias was solid enough when he wasn't trying to be the playmaker. Only really Gonzalez and Khusanov of the subs did anything at all to suggest they could be starters.

A very good 3 points though and hopefully a few will get a rest at the weekend. Onwards and upwards.

Second half might just be down to fitness. The amount of work the team does out of possession in the first half I can kinda see why we drop in the second half.
 
3 points comfortably game oh Semyno told the referee he had his hair pulled but apparently it wasn’t enough! So a little tug isn’t a red card it has to be a yank!? Thought intentionally pulling an opponents hair is a straight red? Well that what we were told when cuccerlla had his hair pulled twice and on both occasions it was a straight red! Hope pep has a go at the referee and var again!! You got to keep banging that drum!
 
Very good mature first hall showing.

Unquestionably took the intensity of press down second half and focussed on not having a repeat of Craven Cottage 2nd half. Allowed Fulham a surprising number of shots but only 3 were on target and it never felt stressful. Still need to reduce number of sloppy errors and poor decisions.
 
Positive was the clean sheet and some good finishes for our goals.

Negative was we lost balance and shape in the middle third of the match - I have no idea what to say about Tijjani - he offered nothing when he came on and his positioning completely made us disjointed and gave others no space in which to work.

For a non-dirty game there should have been 2 reds - 1 for the hair puller and I for Phil - that was a naughty tackle for his booking and if it had been on one of ours I would have been calling for a dismissal.

None the less 3 pts and the clean sheet - we move on.
