Fulham (H) Post Match Thread

First time for a few years I wasn't nervous when the ball was in our defensive third. Cancelo was very good and offers a lot more balance. Diaz is a class act and bringing the best out of our defence. Stones had his best game for a few Seasons. Up front its just not working . Perfect game to try out a few kids late on.

Who are you leaving out and pissing off though? One of Torres, Foden or Bernardo would have to be out of the squad to accommodate him. One will already have to miss out entirely when Aguero is on the bench. Barring another injury crisis, the kids are getting minutes in the League Cup and that’s it this season. And even then there has to be a balance between kids and fringe senior players. Their chances are very slim, such is the depth of the squad.

Don’t write any of those off yet, we’ve seen what can happen with complacency

Well he doesn't have to imagine, he's a professional football manager with a team of sports scientists and physios. He didn't just forget.

True, but if you said to one of the lads btw you’re gonna be on the bench but not play it doesn’t make a difference. If you go with the idea of oh you’ll play the next game in its entirety but i want gabby rested this game for a bit so Delap will take ur spot it’ll be fine. Walker and Ake missed out due to Garcia so whats the difference
 
As routine as you like. The early goal helps A LOT, but it's nice to be complaining about missed opportunities rather than the struggle to break teams down. Rodri and Gundogan get a lot of criticism, but I thought they ticked along nicely in the middle, and Stones wants to move forward quicker which surprisingly looks like it really helps the team. I continue to be impressed by Dias and Cancelo.

I think of it as having a first aid kit at home, you need it but you hope to never use it. why make subs if he is happy with what is on the pitch
 
Good professional win.

Pep has been guilty in the past about making too many changes with the team so it is refreshing to see him not disrupt the flow of the game.

Yes a few looked tired but this is pep making a point. You won’t play if you are not producing the goods. It will fire up the players benched and when they do get another chance they know they have to deliver.

Mahrez was fantastic with his movement and passing, even seen him press once or twice.

Defence is soo good with Dias and stones played well with no silly mistakes.

Gundo and rodders solid.

The players that have rightly come in for criticism have delivered today. It can only be good for the squad.

Let’s just see who plays against Marseille and see if we can get a win with a squad XI against them first
