Fulham (H) Post Match Thread

Manchester City defender John Stones speaking to BT Sport: "We said after the Champions League game that we wanted another clean sheet and to keep that run going. We knew what we were up against and we set out from the start.

"Every game we play in, we can always score more and we're frustrated with ourselves but it's good just to get three points. I'm sure the boys, the strikers, will be frustrated with the chances they haven't taken but it's three points.

"The manager demands a lot from us and expects a lot from us. We're all fighting for our places. When we get our chance, you have to take it. It gives us healthy competition. We know what's expected of us. We know if we don't deliver, there's always somebody fighting for that spot. It's what's done us so well in the last five years. Everybody has high standards and we try to keep them there.

"I said before the game it was another step forward and a chance to put a mark on the season. We're solely focused on each game and this one we did, came through with three points and everybody's words transpired onto the pitch. We have to keep this winning mentality going."

Good to see JS taking in what Pep is saying, done really well and hope he keeps it up all season...

A regulation victory against fodder.

Another milestone in Foden’s development. Hey Phil, didn’t you hear it’s all on merit now? Your redundancy letter’s in the post.

Another day when we were hamstrung by those meanies not allowing five substitutions. But it did allow KDB the full 90 minutes to regain match fitness.

If not making subs means we have a lineup of stefan, walker, garcia, laporte, ake, ferna, bernado, doyle, ferran, foden, Jesus id be quite happy. Very good 60 mins and a professional finish. Mendy is looking decent at the minute and mahrez looks like he's had a rocket up jacksie.

It was good.

Some finishing could be better, and some players passing at the end could be better, but it is what it is.

The defense being solid so consistently is showing alot of promise, and the 442 with 2 false 9s looks good too, I like Peps changes.

My MotM is the Gundogan-Rodri pivot because it felt like 1 unit working perfectly. This is clearly Peps go to going forward.

Pep really likes stones so he will be chuffed he’s looking good again. Defence sorted. At least we can complain about attack now :-)

Great result 3 points not complaining..

But, can we please hold our nerve in front of goal now n then, at this level we stink at times .. Very frustrating, Fulham will go home tonight wondering how the fuck they didn’t get beat
7-0 as I predicted ...Lucky cunts .. !

Ps. Can someone please brief Eddie to stay the fuck in his area until it’s obvious we are in trouble .... He’s a nutter these days and it’s gonna cost us ..

I think of it as having a first aid kit at home, you need it but you hope to never use it. why make subs if he is happy with what is on the pitch

Kevs energy dropped off in the last 15 mins, no problems with that as he had a storming game so swapping him out would have been the thing to do for me, It will get used against him.

Is that true - first game of ours with no subs for 15 years?!
If Peps sending a message I’m not sure what it is.

Thought Kev mint, could have come off and Foden brought on, he looked tired around the 75 min mark.

Raheem had a poor game, his passing was off, however he managed a decent goal and works hard.

Ilkay was mint and Mahrez was the stand out player. He's got Pep on his side and I'm hoping he becomes another Kev.

Diaz and John solid.

Eddy had nothing to do, but still managed a gaff....ffs Eddy!!

Cancello, solid defending, but some poor crossing.

Mendy decent.

Gabby solid and works his socks off.

Great result though. Well played lads.
