Fulham (H) Post Match Thread

Much better team effort. Still missing too many chances.

why no subs ?????? I really don’t get it. Gundy, Jesus, Kev & raz tired a lot in the last 25 mins.

Mahrez motm for me.

Because Pep will want to play all the players that didn’t come on today midweek with a group of EDS players. What’s the point in putting pointless minutes into the legs of Bernardo, Foden etc when they’re going to get a full game midweek?

Good win, and a clean sheet.
Quite easily should have been 5 or 6.
Some really poor finishing. Sad to say, but we wouldn’t see the dippers missing chances like those.

Happy with that and the past weeks performances. We should've scored more today but we have built into the season well now. Tactically Pep's changes seem to be working, and his message is getting through to the players about competition for spots. Can visibly see the change in the squad.

Who are you leaving out and pissing off though? One of Torres, Foden or Bernardo would have to be out of the squad to accommodate him. One will already have to miss out entirely when Aguero is on the bench. Barring another injury crisis, the kids are getting minutes in the League Cup and that’s it this season. And even then there has to be a balance between kids and fringe senior players. Their chances are very slim, such is the depth of the squad.
Now is the time to try them not when forced to do through injury. He could have rotated all of the above today at 60 minutes. Jesus & KDB must have covered about 12 miles today .

That's the spirit blue.

Pity we didn't get spanked 5-0 just to fucking cheer you up a bit lol
It was a damp squib after a fine start. We waste so many chances it's way beyond bad luck or good goalkeeping.
Pep owes us a Derby Day victory. We need to be far more clinical to get it.

Quite enjoyed that game. Would have liked a few more goals but hey ho, that’s life. We won, we’re back in the top 4 where we belong and I am quite relaxed now.
I might get my dream 10-0 by the end of the season but I can wait. I’m a patient person. Let’s face it I’ve supported this wonderful club for enough years now to know that it takes time!! :-)

Stay safe, take care everyone.

In their current form, the team that played today is the Pep's first choice, it looks like, and given they aren't getting much time on the training pitch presumably he's letting the partnerships develop on the pitch. That explains the lack of subs to me.

Throw on kids when we’ve only got a 2-0 lead? We can’t be fucking about anymore this season and testing out kids should only be done in dead rubbers or cup games. KDB got a rest midweek and will have another rest this following week, it’s perfectly fine that he played a full game today.

Good win. We missed a few and found their keeper in good form. No boobs from Areola.
Only 4 points cover the top 5 or 6 as it stands, proving early gloom was premature.
Keep it going.

We miss a bucket full of chances , their keeper is the best player on the park , and it should have been ten , job done , whilst the Rags have to fight tooth and nail to qualify we can break out the cigars and slippers on Wednesday , smashing the Rags is now the objective

Good first half, disappointing and frustrating second half.

Mahrez, Cancelo, Stones and De Bruyne all good.

I wish Jesus had just that little extra something that players like Aguero have, whether it's a microsecond better acceleration, anticipation or just plain luck, but looks like killer instinct. With his superb movement he'd get an absolute hatful, but so many times he's nudged off balance, tackled or marginally offside.

Good to see Stones getting back to form.

Sick of keepers constantly having their best games against us, or maybe our shit finishing just makes them look good.

Still, three points and back n the top 4. Got to put our chances away against the vermin next week.

It was another very good performance, but I am not sure if I am disappointed or worried by our finishing, or how many times we creta chance in the box and then just squander it. But still, we really played well and controlled the game, even our pressing game is back, with Jesus again leading the line and sacrificing himself in this false nine formation, I am really feeling for him. Notable performances, Mahrez was so good, all industry and no lingering on the ball, looked at his best like in that Leicester city winning season. Gundogan....well I hope he finally proved himself to many on this board in a very dynamic game, we are in a pickle once he leaves, because there are very few players around doing what he does. And John Stones, nice to see you again, old friend. Where have you been for the past two years?
