Fulham (H) Post Match Thread

Teams make it proper shit watching city at the moment. I know people say that’s the only way these teams can play against us to prevent a hammering, but it really is killing any enjoyment watching city. Great we won, some decent performances, but god I look forward to a game where we aren’t facing a wall of defenders.

Rodri got 45 mins rest vs. Burnley and won't play Marseilles.

Pep is doing a perfect job of rotating the squad and keeping minutes down.

It seems like the supposed frustration with substitutes is actually just people wanting Foden to play every game.

Foden should be playing more.

He'll play in the dead rubber game midweek and I'll be well surprised if he is anything but on the bench for the Utd game.

In any other premier league team he'd be starting near every match.

I get the feeling Pep won’t make subs because he wants the guys on the bench to be even hungrier for minutes.

But when you’re asking for 5 subs and the 11 look fucked after 70mins with the game won its baffling.

Professional performance, 3 points and the boo boys Mahrez gundogan Rodri and Mendy all played well.

Let’s play the kids midweek and make sure we’re fully rested for the scum.
You have a point there in your first sentence. Plus with the scoreline at the level of 2-0, Pep remained insecure to affect the balances. He usually hesitates in such circumstances, and we have often paid the price for not killing games and resting players early. Players that lacked the needed energy in the following match. This time, at least, we can afford keeping Kevin and others out of the midweek fixture...

Wasting clear chances (again) was probably the only frustrating thing tonight, as more and more players get into match rhythm, appearing sharper and sharper match after match. A serious, professional performance and a comfortable victory, with City conceding very little if nothing to the opposition, easily controlling the game throughout the 90 minutes...

A lot of good / decent performances, making it hard to pick the MOM. Influential, hard working Ilkay wins it for me though, for maintaining his good form and having a positive impact in all aspects of City's game. Keep it up...

PS. Raheem gets a penalty without being shot? Without bleeding? That's new. Even though fat man did offer Fulham soft fouls (which City did not get while playing at home), and the less said about that laughable decision not calling that foul on Benjamin, the better...

Wish KDB had scored the chance from the break in the 2nd half, that would have been an incredible goal.

Hahaha. How many league games has he started in the last six?

While KDB played the full game despite looking semi-fcuked recently.

Hope what you’re sucking tastes nice...not too chorizo flavoured.

Good commanding performance ... the only slight disappointment - as often - is not scoring as many as our dominance warranted.

If we can beat Utd next week, then we'll be pushing the teams at the top of the table.

If we'd taken 3 of our 22 chances against Spurs, we'd be top now.

Even teams at the top do it when City arent playing well ah maureen

Clean sheet again the positive, even though Mendy offered nothing.

Struggling in final third, some poor decision making.

We need to up our game next week though, hope we are at our clinical best.

Wins a wins but our attacking options are shocking for a top tier team . Without kun we are nothing up front and that is a major concern going forward

If you are going to jump into a conversation at least read the preceding few comments

KDB will go into the derby having played 180 minutes in our last 5 games.

He will have started 5 of the previous 9 matches.

If that's not enough fucking rest then perhaps you want him to retire because its the only way he's getting more. He is just about the only football player in the Champions League who is getting the luxury of playing 1 game a week.

If he wants to play he needs to be good enough in games and training to get picked.

You'd think you lot would eventually learn but seemingly not, the last 2 weeks the player this forum has been outraged is starting ahead of Foden has scored a hattrick one week and scored and assisted both goals the next week. Both games were walks in the park that went as well as any coach could plan it.

It's almost as if Pep Guardiola knows what he is doing and sees these guys every day.

Foden has been that rubbish not to start a premier league game 6 times in a row?

Mahrez has played well for 2 games this season yet was being picked ahead of him still.

Sterling has been mediocre at best yet starts nearly every game.

That’s what Pep was doing today. Protecting the players on the bench today from coming on and putting needless minutes into their legs. Everyone who played today will get a rest midweek. It’s good squad management from Pep, I don’t know why people can’t see it.
That's fair, and I do see it the same way you see, too. That's why I won't complain and totally respect the decision of Pep. I just cannot get rid of the concern in my head about players' fitness.
And the reason is, the way we see it hardly ever the same way Pep sees it. When was the last time we can predict correctly what players Pep will choose for a match?!

Anyway, I think Pep knows much more than me about how to keep players fit. Sometimes players need to be rested, but sometimes they need to run more, I don't know.

Foden has played in every single Manchester City game this season bar 3. And he has started 9 of our 18 games.

I seriously don't know how you can have the gall to complain about Mahrez and Sterling. FFS since Pep dropped them Mahrez has been excellent and Sterling won the game today with a goal and winning the penalty.

And wouldn't you know it both games went perfectly.like I said before its almost as if Pep knows what he is doing and you're just whining like a spoilt child because the particular player you like isn't starting every game.
