Full Backs?

He will stay and be a valuable member of the squad, both for his skill on the field and his attitude off it.

We need a new left back. It's not his position and a specialist would be far better. He also needs to go to a club where he'll get a chance to play, develop and shine in midfield. Whether those things happen this summer or not I've no idea, but they will happen.
Agreed. Wonder if Txiki is going to offer him a contract to extract some fee. The current one expires in a year.

He is our first choice LB now, you can see how the team improves in imagination upfront and confidence at the back when he plays. Mendy is now back up and next season has to prove he is worth keeping. Who we buy is dependent on Mendy and i can not see Mendy leaving

He was going to play very little this season according to many.

Well he hasn't really. He had 2 starts in the first 7 months of the season in League.

Now Delph has been inured and finally wore out Pep's patience and he's been involved for 3 months, but he's still featured less than anyone else in the first team squad except Danilo, and that's before another LB come in...

He has played more matches in every competition than last season

Yeah, OK, but that's completely meaningless isn't it? Delph's been injured most of the year, so of course Zinch played more.

Look at it this way. Which games would Zinchenko have played this season if a good quality LB was available after replacing Delph? League cup, early FA Cup, dead rubber in the CL?

Not much to live off.

Going back to what Pep said a few months ago about us not being able to afford another season where our first choice left back is always injured, at first sight it would seem we're definitely going to go for a left back, but that was before Zin emerged as a genuine contender. His current form is excellent, he keeps possession well, his decision making is quick and passing accurate. His defending is questionable at times but I think he has done enough to be given a chance.

As far as how it affects our transfers, priorities change, so with Zin's emergence maybe Pep now considers it more important that we don't risk another season where Kev is constantly injured - if it happened this season, it can also happen next season so maybe the Bruno Fernandes rumours are true? Hard to work out what Pep's thinking though, I read something the other day that he said Zin would have a great career 'if not at City then somewhere else' or words to that effect.

I think Delph will go and a defensive midfield will come in, maybe also a left sided centre back (Otamendi) to cover the left back position and a creative midfielder. Not sure how that would leave us with foreign spots.
