Furious!

Droylsden Store, it's very rare we both visit to be honest. She only popped in as she was out and about with the baby. I might call the local paper as advised. When I called the customer service line they seemed more interested in what I was going to do than taking the product of the shelves!
 
Definitely kick up a fuss, try and get the local news involved. Tesco will soon start to play ball.

Maybe because if the person on the phone was the same person as the one who put it on the shelf, then that explains why they are staying quiet about it

The person on the phone represents the company. As far as the caller is concerned, they ARE the company. If they're an arse, the company is an arse. This is professionalism.

Not many people do that, I just grab what I need. Kind of expect Tesco to check the dates

Precisely. If Tesco expect me to closely inspect every item I put in my trolley, I'll instead shop somewhere they give a fuck about what they're selling.
