Götze/Kagawa

Said it before, signing a Japanese player would do wonders for our battle with the new FFP rules. Japanese consumers spend big and idolize their sporting stars, so would buy City merchandise in droves. And now is a good time as there are some talented Japanese players who have popped up in the last few years: Keisuke Honda (CSKA), Shinji Kagawa (Dortmund), Yuto Nagatomo (Inter - just joined), Shinji Okazaki (Stuttgart - just joined), and the new wonderkid Ryo Miyaichi (Arsenal - just joined). It is also ingrained into their culture to work hard and generally be humble so you'd get very few disciplinary problems from most.

Would love either of these two. Think it was Kagawa who ran the show against us in a pre-season friendly, yes it was pre-season, but I was impressed.

How does kagawa compare to pastore?
I'd take Pastore. But they are different type of players. Kagawa seems more Silva like. While Pastore brings a different dimension.

I'd presume Kagawa will be a safer pick. Likely to be very good no matter what. Think a slightly more skillful Park at United. While Pastore has the potential of being great. But could also flop if he doesn't mesh early and gets ran out of town. Think Kaka at Milan/or Benzema at Madrid. Could become one or the other.

Since I am a risk taker, I'll still go Pastore :-)

If you haven't seen Goetze before, you should be able to watch tonight on ESPN, 7.30.

I don't watch much Italian football, only German and Spanish, so I can't comment on Pastore although I'm sure I've seen him once or twice.

I think both Kagawa and Goetze could just slot in to our style of play, whether or not Pastore is better than them, they might still be better options for the team.

i hope, my team kicks him out of the match in the early minutes LOL

but yes, he is one of the biggest talents in german football and already made his debut for the german team.

Love both of these players - and Sahin too. Think they're destined for bigger and better things, though with the Bundesliga more than likely being won by Dortmund, they could be convinced to stay.

-- Mon Apr 04, 2011 11:37 pm --

Own goal, but that's a typical dribble by him; he's been terrorising defences with those all season. Fantastic young player in the making.

Do not look over Jakub Blasczkowski (aka KUBA) from Dortmund, he has immense speed and great technical ability and I would rate him up there with gotze and kagawa.
