Just watched him on Footballs Greatest wow he was some player. Only ever won 1 league title said he never wanted to join a united or a Madrid as it was to easy to win things he wanted a challenge. He had everything I liked him when I was growing up and remember his goal for Fiorentina @ The swamp. Don't think there's anyone like him out there now.

I watched him a lot (live on tv, of course) playing for Fiorentina and Roma. Honestly, SerieA was more popular a decade ago than any other leagues.

Batigol, what a player. He didn't leave when Fiorentina went down to Serie B. Once he left for Roma he won scudetto.

But one thing, like Messi, I think he couldn't lift up Argentina.

Who is player that currently playing that you think similar with Batistuta?

Drogba in his peak? Not really.
Giguain? He is more all-round while Bati wasn't.

RvN in his peak? Maybe, maybe not.

way more powerful than rvn - great player, had everything

RvN + Drogba then.

I never heard new emerging talents called the next Batistuta. I think it's because he's a unique/rare type of striker, striker that could lead the line perfectly. Plus, the change of teams playing style in the last decade makes it hard to find strikers like Bati.
