That's not true as far as I can see. If an English player is any good they are hyped beyond any reasonable level. Usually they fall all by themselves because they start to believe the hype. (Sterling is different because that was just Liverpool being drama queens - just as are United and Arsenal).

Just suffer as a City fan from the disappointment of many an overhyped English player as well as seen the darlings get preferred treatment from officials, media etc. All I want to see is a player treated the same wherever he's from and no matter the team he plays for (or past teams).
