You've both probably missed part of my point here. We also need to avoid getting into the situations where players run down close to the end of their contracts before we sell. Jesus with a couple of years on his contract is worth 60 million easily. Sane is another recent one.

I would suggest we have got a good price for a player who gave us great service but was set to be marginalised in Pep’s restructuring. Sane was a little different, it was clear we didn’t want to sell him but it was also clear he wasn’t maturing into his full potential and I agree we could have got more for him, however once he wanted to go and he got that long term injury and Munich employed their underhand tactics it was going to difficult to do so. With the benefit of hindsight though it now clear he isn’t maturing into Bayern’s vision they want for him, shame really because the lad is class.
