Gabriel Jesus joins Arsenal

How do you know it would have been for 12 months? If he got a regular start he might have stayed, a stop Start in terms of games for a player of his age is no good for confidence
Well he wouldn't have got regular starts. So there's your answer. Pep went and bought two strikers to add in with the already stacked forward line.

Arsenal offered him a big pay bump and the number one striker spot. He's not turning that down to sit on the bench for us and play Carabao.

Brazil's number 9 and was already brilliant before he came to us.

He then had over 5 years of coaching from Guardiola and developed a relentless winning mentality.

He's about to enter his prime with several years of Premier League experience behind him and play for a manager that he's already worked with who will know his game inside out.

He's also in a team where there's less pressure to fight for titles meaning he won't be coming up against as many low blocks and will have more time and space to show his quality.

Oh and he no longer has the burden of trying to follow Aguero.

Gabby is going to absolutely smash it at Arsenal and whilst I'll be a bit gutted to see him doing it for another English club after the memories he's already made with us, it's a move he deserved.

I never understood why we didn't play him as the "false 9". He could keep things ticking like a midfielder, he was great pressing, and for all his wastefulness he got in great positions far more often than the alternative. Ultimately he's not good enough to lead the line on one of the few elite teams in the world, long term. But I think we'd have benefited by just letting him be the guy the last 2 years.

Any case, he's an easy guy to root for and I hope he kills it.

Much as I like Gabby,he had enough chances to pin down a regular place. Good luck to him, hope he does well, but our two new strikers are both better.
We’ve no idea whether Alvarez will be as good as Gabriel Jesus and have years of winning trophies with us, or as good as Gabriel Barbosa and back in South America in a couple of years.

I agree with a lot of the posters here. Jesus had more than enough opportunities. Wish we could have him back in a heartbeat. He will thrive at Arsenal and I hope he does.
