It will probably be Gabriel Jesus first game in the brazilian pro team initial squad as well. In Brazil, its been said that tite's team will prolly be:

Alison (Roma)
Marcelo (R Madrid)
Miranda (Inter Milan)
Marquinhos (PSG)
Dani Alves (Barça)
Casemiro (R Madrid)
Renato Augusto (China)
Coutinho (Liverpool)
William (Chelsea)
Neymar (Barça)
G Jesus (Palmeiras)

During Tites media press today, he was specifically asked about fernandinho and, from what he said, him and a lot of the brazilian players who play in europe are starting a new season now, players are still getting game rithym and pace and, for this next two games, that Brazil desperately needs to win (we are 6ht place in world cup qualifying games and would be out from russia if it ended now), he would be taking this into consideration when making the list.SO Fernandinho will probably be on next lists, specially if he keeps doing what he is in city.

Yet nearly every player you've listed in the likely team is playing in Europe and some in leagues that started after the Premier League, so that doesn't really make much sense.

I thin you are right and what happened is that Tite simply preferes paulinho (ex tottenham now china) to fernandinho and he had to come up with an excuse for calling someone playing in the chinese league instead of someone playing with pep in man city.

Bt sport 3 at 8 for those still with bt....
First half just finished, Palmeiras is winning 2x0 fluminense and staying at the lead of the BR League.

Gabriel Jesus did not have a good first half. He seems tired. On second half, Roger Guedes will enter the field and I think Jesus football will improve with that.

They are kicking the little lad to bits, you can tell with his one touch little flicks etc he's technically superior to anyone else on the field. He also runs like mad off the ball no wonder Pep wants him.

Watched the match last night and thought that whilst looking a little jaded from the Olympics he showed signs that we have a very special talent arriving in January. One of his through balls to a colleague in the second half was exquisite and certainly deserved a better finish.

Only thing I have to add on top of those who watched him yesterday is he has to still work on remaining calm dealing with the refs. Knowing how these refs in the PL are acting now, he's going to accumulate a lot of unnecessary yellows. But man does he get hacked, he was fouled at least 6-7 times yesterday including fouled below the belt.

I thought that maybe you guys would like to know that tomorrow Brazil plays ecuador (World Cup Qualifying game) with Gabriel Jesus not only being called for the pro national team for the first time but also confirmed in the starting squad, forming an attack trio with Neymar and Willian. I would point out that Brazil at this moment is out of Russia, Ecuador is second place and Brazil will play at almost 3.000 meters high.

An exceptional test for Gabriel.

Cheers!

He's going to be hated by the opposition fans imo. He'll drive everyone nuts. From constantly complaining, not knowing if he's on the ground because of something legitimate or just rolling around for effect and then scoring a hat-full (after he grows into the role - as it's clear he's not ready as is).

He's Costa on speed but without the spitting imo. The media will be obsessed with him. It'll be ban after ban and choruses of boos wherever he plays (at least Sterling might get a break from it). But I think we'll love him all the more. :-)

I'd compare him with Pedro Rodrigues, a luxury version. Natural born pressing machine. Hope Pep will cut out his behavior.

It's worth mentioning that he'll wear No.9 - not bad for a debutant.

True. Specially in a national team with historical nines, its huge to be at the starting squad at 19 years old as a striker. Incidentally, this is good for manchester city cause, as far as I know, the premier league demands foreign players to be constantly called to their national teams, this is gabriel first call of many, I am positive. Today at 6PM (BRT), lets see what he can do at 3000 meters high.
