Gael Clichy Appreciation

i thought it was a close run thing between him and milner for man of the match

he's been great in all the games he's played apart form being a little dozy when munich scored their first

put me on the list, love the guy.

disagreed with you over kolorov a few months back, but clichy has been superb-a level above kolo-you were right..we DID need a new left back.

Fitted into the team like he has played for us for years, great player, great pro, just gets on with it, no fuss, no nonsense. He must be loving playing alongside a quality defence and in front of a top quality keeper!

he practically put ablongohor in a one on one situation with hart!

So what part of this word do you not fucking understand !!!
I am sorry, but the phrase 'hardly put a foot wrong,' should not apply to the defender that gave up the only clear cut chance to the opposition. You said he and Clichy stood above the rest. Don't know how you reached this conclusion. In a game in which everyone played fantastically, if we were geting picky, of all 4 defenders, the least likely to be deemed to have had the best game is Lescott. Seeing as he gave up the only key chance, while Clichy saved a chance, Micah snuffed a possible Bent chance and won the corner for our first goal with his beautiful run in, and Kompany scored in addition to having a stellar play at the back.

Not saying Lesc didn't play well. But all things considered he was the least productive of the 4.

Milner, Clichy, De Jong and Mario were the standouts. And while it is arguable that someone else deserved MOM. I sincerely doubt Lescott is one of the arguables under any permutation.

You have to remember that Lescott hardly gets past the half way line,so obviously he is not going to get the plaudits that Richards and Clichy gets.Unfortunately Richards only played for an hour,so how you can say Lescott was the least productive is stupid.
Productive can also be in the form of stopping the opposing forwards, something which Lescott did extremely well.

Thought he was contender for MOTM along with Milner, infact i think Milner just edged it.

He reads the game so well, i bet his interception stats are impressive!

all this nonsense about getting caught out of position and not being to able to track runs is alod of bollocks, yesterday at 4-1 he sprinted back 50 yards full pelt to help out when we had enough numbers. he work rate both on and especially off the ball going forward is second to none.

for the first time in AGES, i feel comfortable with our LB!

always been a problem for us, infact for the first time in ages i feel comfortable about the whole back line.

no weak link in the Premiership for us now.

I've been tormenting my Arsenal supporting mate since the start of the season. The fucker said Clichy was shit and how he would make our defence shite. Gael rightfully making him eat his own words now.
