Hopeful a clever move which allows both sides of the picture to be seen without encouraging Madrid into making another counter statement. The tapping up thing is interesting as Madrid are quoted saying they expected us to have already agreed terms with the player BEFORE we approached them to agree a fee!?!
The biggest problem right now is the number of people round here who think we're being hard done to - and I think that deserves a new thread!
Real Madrid appear to want their cake and eat it.
They know the rules , as well as the next club ..... and they can't tell us that they would have welcomed City approaching their player BEFORE we actually approached them ...... no wonder City had no paper work in place , as all they'd seemingly managed to do , with less than an hour of the transfer window remaining , was talk Madrid into lowering the players asking price to a more realistic level .......
are Real Madrid actually saying that they fully EXPECTED us to 'tap' the player up BEFORE we approached them ... and that it was the right thing to do????
So all the media speculation in January about us trying to sign Gago must have been made up.
