Gago Situation

either gago or de rossi would be fantastic for us!!! financially a deal involving an ade/gago swap would be best for us though?

looks to me like the source of this story is TalkSHITE so probably nothing in it?

where was this from mate, a reliable pubication? Maybe if Roma get him it could be due to us bagging De Rossi?

Well it is from talkSPORT who aren't reliable with their own sources - but it originates from the Italian and Spanish media so maybe there is something to it. One says we've offered 5m (Euros) but Real want 10m (Euros).

Not surprised at all if this is true, Mancini loves this guy and he'd be an affordable player now.

Manchester City and Roma are locked in a battle to sign Real Madrid midfielder Fernando Gago.

City are long-term admirers of the all-action Argentina international and manager Roberto Mancini tried to sign him in January 2010 but the two sides were unable to agree a fee.

Then, Real wanted over £20m for the 25-year-old but his value has since plummeted, having started just 15 games in two seasons for the La Liga giants.

Sources in Spain have suggested that Real will now be willing to sell Gago for around £8.5m but City are hoping to snap him up for half of that figure.

However, they will have to hold off the attentions of Roma, who are also planning a swoop for the defensive midfielder before the window shuts on August 31.

The Serie A side have already had a loan bid rejected by Real and are understood to be considering a cash offer for Gago.

City are ready to negotiate up until the transfer deadline in order to drive down the price for the Argentina international – although it has been suggested that he would rather live in Rome than Manchester.

I wonder if this is a bit of a strategy re: Carlos

Carlos wants to go back to Argentina, but nobody in Argentina can afford him

If Carlos can't go to Argentina, we bring Argentina to Carlos by signing a few top Argentinan players which makes Carlos feel more at home and might encourage his ex wife to return to England as she'd have other Argentinians to socialise with.

10m euros if gago could stay fit would be a steal!!

I am sorry, but Gago is a headless chicken. He is utter shite.

I've watched a brickload of Real games when he featured. Utter shite.

Yann M'Vila from Rennes. Better buy than Rossi and Gago combined. Hence why Wenger has made a £20M bid for M'Vila.

Wow, you had better mail Mancini quickly then with your expert analysis of Gago. I'm sure he will appreciate that he's been wrong all along about Gago when he sees your measured analysis.

Fernando GAGO played half an hour for Real Madrid on Thursday against Malaga before having to be substituted off due to an injury. News coming out of Spain is that GAGO has a torn hamstring in his right leg (a grade 2 tear). He will be out of action for around three weeks.

This is obviously not good news for GAGO. He hasn't been getting any minutes for Madrid and has suffered three injuries so far this season. The first was an injury in August 2010, the second coming in October 2010 and now a third injury for the former Boca Juniors player.

Italian club Palermo is allegedly interested in Argentine playmaker Dario CONCA. Currently with Brazilian club Fluminense, CONCA was chosen as the best player in Brazil last season. La Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Palermo is keeping an eye on the Argentine and would be willing to play over €10 million for the playmaker.

Should CONCA join Palermo, he would be the fourth Argentine on the team along with Santiago GARCIA, Ezequiel MUNOZ and another playmaker Javier PASTORE.

Can someone tell me how Gago plays? Is he truly a DM or more of a CM?

He is a weak CM Ballwinner. Very weak.

Have you seen Gago play? More than one or two games?

If Gago is that hot, why is he still at Real? Given he will never claim a spot in Real after Alonso and Khedira arrived. I don't see superpower teams around rushing to buy him. Do you? In fact, I don't see any teams trying to sign him...

You are incorrect

Feel free to post stats that say otherwise.

He doesnt have the passing ability to help in that department, and he is not strong enough to be a good ballwinner. So what exactly are his strengths? Apart from playing dirty when his team is down?
