Job done…just. There’s no way we should have been looking to the other results. Galatasaray were no good but we just stopped playing. Every week we come out for the 2nd half and it’s absolutely abysmal. WTF do we do at HT?

At halftime surely we’d be saying ‘keep it tight for the first 15 minutes cos they’ll be fired up’
We come out like we ain’t arsed and give the opposition hope.

Job done thanks to PSG and Newcastle drawing and Madrid losing, but worrying second half collapse again.

It was scruffy up front hardly a collapse, they had one true effort on goal all game

The difference between this city team and the past is the length of time with which we look like world beaters. It used to be 85 mins. It's now 35.

Let's get that to 60 by the end of Feb and then maybe....

Huge improvement needed then, as soon as teams get their intensity up and start prrssing high up the pitch, we cant keep the ball like we used to. Our pressing is also a mess, some of them seem to do it, some not, so late to the man most of the time or not at all.

Good performance overall. Limited them to half chances and shots from range.

Our work in the final third was a mess second half though. Glad Doku had put in the work first half to see us through.

Second half was like a pre-season friendly. Thankfully, the job was done in the first.

Excellent result from a reasonable performance. Thanks to Doku!

Agree 100% - It was all about us having balance and shape which we did until Jeremy was forced off. I think Phil is a bit of a problem at the moment.

Now that Semenyo and Guei are eligible and Nico is back with Rodri too I think it's a straight choice between Rayan and Phil in the number 10 spot and being honest Cherki is way ahead - 18 G/A is impressive and we look more dynamic when he is on. Phil needs some time out of the spotlight and no doubt he will be back but something ain't right - maybe contractual, personal as he doesn't look half the player we know he is.

We lost a lot of our threat when Doku went off…..up until then it was (imo) some of the most entertaining football I’ve seen us play in a while…….Benfica’s keeper sealed the night for us though!
