Game of Thrones 4

Well I've not read the books but I think the old Daario was definitely a face you could remember, looked odd and handsome at the same time, the new guy is a bit bland and seems more of a scally. In the books does the character dye his hair, get it cut and grow a beard? Thought not!

Anyway, had a re watch last night and seems better than the first watch already lol, those scarred geezers look a bit fierce!

Myself, I would go for Book of the New Sun as the fantasy saga ripe for a decent TV adaptation.

In the books he has curly blue hair and a blue beard. So the blue bit aside the new guy looks more like he's described than the Legolas look alike they originally cast.

Daario Naharis is a Tyroshi

People

Tyroshi are renowned for their greed.[4] They constantly fight to gain control of the Stepstones and Disputed Lands.
They love bright colors, even coloring their hair brightly.[4] Their inventors are known for creating ornate helmets and ingenious torture devices. Their dialect is a corrupted form of High Valyrian.[5]

Of course we can't talk about Daario Naharis without mentioning poor Ser Jorah Mormont stuck in the friend zone.

Yeah imagine Druss standing on the walls of Dros Delnoch swinging Snaga at the nadir, what a movie it would make...

I heard Gemmell talking about Legend at one of his book signings. The whole premise of the book was that Druss the Legend, the hero of the Drenai and the man everyone was counting on to turn the tide, was supposed to die in the very first battle. But when he was writing the battle scenes he said Druss just took on a life of his own and wouldn't die. He'd get to the end of a chapter and think "shit, he's not dead yet"

Just before we went to the signing we were in Macdonalds and a few of us were chatting about Gemmell and his works. My cousin was not a huge fan and was slating everything he did. He dismissed Druss as just a poor mans Conan.
Unbeknown to us, the great man himself was sat on the table next to us and heard every word.
At the start of his talk he mentioned overhearing this conversation and asked if the person who didn't like Druss was in the room. The whole room was hushed in anticipation, Gemmell was a pretty intimidating bloke and he glared around the room to see if he could spot us.
My cousin had shrunk right down into his seat and was squirming like fuck and just as he thought he'd got away with it, I grassed him up and shouted "It was him" whilst pointing an accusing finger.
It was funny as fuck, our Ste is pretty outspoken but he was like a fucking worm on a hook.
He's never forgiven me for that.

More characters!! Fuck me! It's difficult enough following it as it is!

Totally agree and me and the wife have just watched the first three seasons and episode 1 of the fourth series in less than a week, and it's a real struggle to keep up with whats going on and who's who's. One thing for sure i hope Joffrey gets it big time. Well played by the actor I could smack him myself!!

Go on one of the supporting web sites, they have stacks of info to help you get to grips with the various characters and it certainly helps you appreciate some of the plot-lines even more! Reading the books is ultimately the best way to do this though.

They do that in YouTube comments as well in fairness. Luckily, I've read the books :)
