That last scene saved it really, I thought it was a bit ponderous before The Hound got his game on :)

Thought it did an excellent job of setting up the series,so many important little things going on, the hound had some awesome lines.

I thought he just got a cut which gets infected then Arya leaves him to die slowly before going to Braavos but yeah he's going to have to die a different way
