Depends on the ratings in america if they renew for a second season if they do it will be on in the next 8 months or so

It was a done deal after the first episode, casting is complete and shooting should begin soon. It's expected April next year.

TBH I was a little disappointed by the finale, it lacked the drama of what had come before.

It is actually the only show in HBO history to have commissioned a second series before the airing of the pilot, i concur about the finale, very rushed and condensed to much of the original source, the next series revolves around the power struggle between the kings which is alot harder hitting, just hope they do it justice.

Filming starts on series 2 next month, as said if its rushed then won't be half as good, book 2 sees the children come to the mantle I believe.

Must say was waiting for an epic off at the end, oh well will have to wait.

If they don't give the second series justice they'll be no 3rd series! they drop series left right and centre in a America

I really enjoyed the series but it clearly peaked with A Golden Crown. You Win or You Die should have been the final four episodes. Pretty annoyed that we've missed out on actually seeing the drama. I know it's an expensive series but filming a few minutes of people talking and actually, you know, 'acting', wouldn't have dented the budget.
