He is a good lad, thing he will have an important part in this can tell.

He (Sam the fat lad, if that's who you mean) has his own POV chapters in book four and goes on a ship, so yeah he becomes more of a central character in the books at least.

Anyone else read the books? Book five out next month after a 5-6 year wait. Seven books are planned but the author has been a bit of an alcoholic/lazy bastard so it has taken a long time to finish it.

BTW, book three has a scene in it that I won't spoil that puts what happened in the last TV episode to shame in terms of pure shock and horror. It is absolutely horrifying and brutal and if the TV series gets a third season, it will be filmed.

The books really are amazing, the best fantasy series I've ever read - even better than Tolkien.

Re: Game of Thrones

Just watched the 9th episode and was about to start a thread about it, felt like crying at the end

Re: Game of Thrones

The whole series of books are absolutely brutal in places. I know what LoveCity is referring too and even by George Martin's standards it took me by surprise. These are some of the most brutal books I've read at times, and can be completely unpredictable and take you by complete surprise at times.

Looking forward to the next book coming out. I've waited long enough for the bloody thing. lol.

Haha I was wondering how you'd take it. Keep up with it Scotty it's well worth it. Just don't get too attached to a favourite character because the author is fucking brutal. Great story teller though.

Re: Game of Thrones

Don't normally get to watch many series due to silly working hours, but I've managed to watch all so far and it's a great programme. The dwarf is such a strong character and yes I was gutted about Sean Bean's character tonight.

Looks like I will have to get the books.
