Game of Thrones(no spoilers)

Re: Game of Thrones

Arya should have stabbed the guy holding her back, rescued her dad and then chopped that twat of King's head off!

Can't wait for the next episode. I take it the Daenerys/Khaleesi is gonna give birth to a Dragon... which, to say the least, should be interesting!

He is a good lad, thing he will have an important part in this can tell.

He (Sam the fat lad, if that's who you mean) has his own POV chapters in book four and goes on a ship, so yeah he becomes more of a central character in the books at least.

Anyone else read the books? Book five out next month after a 5-6 year wait. Seven books are planned but the author has been a bit of an alcoholic/lazy bastard so it has taken a long time to finish it.

BTW, book three has a scene in it that I won't spoil that puts what happened in the last TV episode to shame in terms of pure shock and horror. It is absolutely horrifying and brutal and if the TV series gets a third season, it will be filmed.

The books really are amazing, the best fantasy series I've ever read - even better than Tolkien.

I must of read the first 3 books about 3 or 4 times but the 4 book was hard work for me hopefully the final book will finish on a high but you never know with George R R Martin writing it!

Coming to the end of the second book, had to moderate myself otherwise i would have burnt through it.

Not many TV series out there that can replicate the events in books, my only gripe is lack of the importance of the Dire wolves

Re: Game of Thrones

There are a fair few changes in the TV series compared to the book but most are minor and are being overseen by Martin. For example in the books, Arya doesn't stand on that statue and see Ned (nor does he see her) and Yorin from the Night's Watch is a little more rough in how he handles her in the book while in the TV show he almost looked like an uncle comforting her as Ned lost his 'ead. Shae (Tyrion's whore) was also a lot different in the TV series than book, she's a corn-fed country girl in the books and looks like some exotic dancer in the show. But overall, the shows are a fantastic adaptation and there is still one episode to go for the person who thought it was the season finale.

Re: Game of Thrones

I'm still reeling at the revelation that Tyrians rock hard mercenary mate Bronn is non other than Jerome Flynn. The huge jawed one out of 90s warblers Robson and Jerome and soppy arsed squaddie Paddy Garvey in itv's Soldier Soldier.
