Game of Thrones (season 8)

This helps to better explain why some of us feel the writing quality has taken a [Salah] dive and things have become particularly ham fisted — I had these same thoughts throughout the recent episode.

My mates and I have even given an alternative, Shyamalanian name for the episode: ‘The Bludgeoning’ (or “ok, ok, ok... we’ve bloody got it!”).

Given he's going to cark it before getting remotely close to finishing, this is as good as anyone is going to get in terms of a conclusion.
Unfortunate, but likely true.

"What does that even mean? I literally have no idea what that means!"

Means he like ogre porn ;-)

Also that the generalisation of epic fantasy novels, that they all contain the same elements, even though this is obviously false

The Spiral was the symbol of the Children of the Forrest - way before the Tygereons arrived in Westeros. I await to see if the Winterfell Wierwood tree was the one where the Night King was created. Also is he actually a Stark?

He could be both Tygereon AND Stark like Jon, only Tygereons can ride dragons and he has shown he can step through or control fire in some manner. Bran was asked if Dragonfire can kill him and he answered nobody knows.

I think the theory on the net last night will happen, we will see the big battle and they will win but then it will end with the night king attacking Kings Landing.

Jaime and Tyrion will then have to convince the rest to save Cersei and Jaime's child and at the same time work out what to do about the night king.

To be honest no-one has thought of this one but what if the only way to kill the night king is to bring him back to life....?

With a dead dragon bounce. See the Save Our Solksjaer thread for inspiration.
Anyone particularly adept with PS able to make her look like a dead dragon?

Oh no, here we go, they'll all be logging on from work and complaining that their wives and daughters might see this over their shoulders...
If their wives are their daughters I think the ship has sailed on moral dubiousness.

I agree,in fact i'd rate it higher. It all felt a bit forced last season in terms of plot progression and character development, but it appears the writers have now got to grips with the dialogue and the mood, and it's all the better for such.
Totally agree. Vast distances covered in no time at all. The North is 1200 miles from the Twins to the wall with Winterfell 500 mile's from the wall and 700 miles from the Twins. Dragonstone is south of the Vale and another 800 miles further on. We're talking a distance from Ireland to the Urals here. So Ravens would have taken days to get there and The Dragons days to get back and rescue them.

The 3 dragons should be interesting in the battle
How do they stop a dead dragon?
Burn it? Scorpion with a dragonglass arrows? Got to say I was surprised the north hadn't built it's own AA batteries, bearing in mind how successful Bron was.

I seem to vaguely recall the writers commenting on this, saying that either they compact time on the distances, or you have a lot of episodes with people doing nothing but wait.

Out of curiosity, is there still loads of nudity and shagging going on?

I like the way everyone has just ignored your post and gone for intricate plot discussion and predictions as though the shaggand nudity was never a thing for them. Haven't seen episode 2 yet but there was a bit of nudity in episode 1. Last series seemed to be very little. I believe Arya is nude in episode 2 which having seen her grow up on the show feels a bit wrong somehow
