Game of Thrones (season 8)

Actually, I think the end will be fine - that's where they've known they needed to get to for a while, so I'm sure that will work well enough, though obviously won't satisfy all.

would be nice if no matter what the last episode is like people could give it a thankyou for the sheer entertainment they created these past 8 years ... rather than the usual

'well that was a let down'
'what the f*ck, how can they end it like that ? '
'what they should have done ...'

It's been amazing, and I loved last night's episode. I've been doing a re-watch from season over the past 5-6 weeks (up to season 6) whilst also watching the new episodes and there's no question Daenerys has been spoiling to go batshit crazy for some time. With her mates dead, the bloke she fancies turning out to be her nephew with a better claim to the iron throne, and no one really liking her, you knew what was coming next. Loved that they didn't focus at all on her either whilst she was laying waste to the city.

Don't get this danny turning to the darkside is messing her charactor up.

She was always a tyrant and wrong un tbf
she has never shown mercy or remorse and only freed slavers bay because she needed and army and a powerbase.
She crucified her enemies when she wasn't char grilling them
Then when shit hit the fan she fucked off.
Then burnt dothraki alive
Etc

Not supprusing she has gone fully crazy tbf.

She us a victim of being brought up by a **** of a brother and traded about, hence the reason she feels unloved with her best friend and trusted aide gome amd now the man she loves having no truck with shaggin his aunt.

This has been obvious from the start that she would turn mad queen.

She's always been inclined towards violence but Jorah, Ser Barristan and Missandei reigned her in.

You were right on everything but this line.

That's what they've wanted you to think, the whole way.

Now look back. How many times did she "actually" take their advice? Not often.

They gave it. She listened. She did what see originally wanted to.

Every. Single. Time.

These were well meaning, honorable characters, who were fooled by the smile of a fascist.

This is what's killing the audience, the writers just showed the world how easily suckered in they are to a very dark path.

And lads, as for Jaime Lannister...

Most of you have got this one so, so very wrong. This wasn't him riding off to side with Cersei. This was him getting out and knowing she wouldn't, and thinking he was unworthy of the trust and compassion everyone had shown him. He returned to face his fate on equal terms with Cersei.

Same with the twins. It lacked having a meaning in the face of what had gone on for seven and a half seasons, while Daenarys has spent all that time being the liberator and chosen one, and turned into Saddam Hussein inside five minutes after a dragon and a handmaiden got the chop.

Mate, see my previous post. You need to look at the entire series with fresh eyes, you're exactly the type of person who the writers suckered. Click on my spoiler re: Jaime and it should make sense to you in hindsight.

Not to brag but I've written multiple fiction series, won awards and studied writing.(I even met Martin himself many years back but was oblivious to who he was and how great this series would become!) The writers here have been absolutely masterful in manipulating their audience. This has been so in your face that most people dismissed it as silly. That's the whole point.

It's like when you think affable oaf Boris Johnson wouldn't be capable of screwing over his own country and then when he does you feel like a twat.

FFS, if you've written multiple fiction series, then I'd have thought you might be able to read as well. I knew exactly where it was going with her character, and hadn't the slightest issue with it. My problem is how they underwrote and rushed it at the end rather than doing it properly. Capiche?

Tyrion has morphed into Goofy who’s only line seems to be ‘sorry, I made a mistake (again)’ what the hell?

He is.

Getting very defensive there buddy.

I'll leave it there.

Hollyoaks might be more your cuppa ;-)
