Game of Thrones

My answers to your questions:

After watching Episode 6 last night I have a somewhat contradictory feeling about GoT; it's brilliantly entertaining and I love watching it, but my god the writing and scripting can be shoddy. I really wish they had spread it over 10 episodes rather than rushing through it. It used to be a clever and witty show about politics and war within a fantasy realm; now, it is purely fantasy (I love fantasy, but GoT was always about more than that).

The directors could have easily done 10 seasons but they refused to do any more, even though HBO were willing to give them as much as they needed (funding wise).... they wanted to get it done ASAP as they have other projects they want to work on.

The two directors don't get paid per season, as they probably would have done it if they did. So my guesses was they didn't want to pump out the extra 2 seasons for the same amount of pay, even though story wise it probably would have worked out better.

*sees thread bumped a lot since Tuesday - open threat to see episode 6 leaked - escapes thread sharpish*

Thanks Man and agree .... to clarify -

"why didn't the night king use the magic spheres he had all along instead of standing around waiting for the ice to freeze" -" Not sure what spheres you mean"

When the night king kills the dragon he launches what appears to be a spear(maybe makes more sense now its spelt correct lol) and kills it with a perfect shot from a great distance, and just misses another dragon on another attempt after walking back to get another one, so assuming he was armed with a couple of these - the team were sitting ducks in the middle of the lake, why not use these to kill them and march on

season 7 has great action and it was good to start of with but its disappointing now, directors are not doing justice to the story line that was steadily built in the preceding seasons.

One thing to take into account about the nights king, and it probably won't get touched on in the tv show. But they area civilization, with a city...they aren't just a mindless hoarde of dead people....

That said, looks to me like he knew the first thing that would happen when they surrounded them is that dany would turn up with the dragons. Maybe he has some three eye crown power?

*Mod warning applied

I've been saying since season 4 that my guess is that Bran is one of many people in the song of ice and fire lore..... Bran being the night king being one of them, makes sense about the relationship between knights king and Bran.

Anyone know if there's any truth to the rumour that the 6 episodes scheduled for the 8th and final season are all extended (ie 90 mins to 2 hours, rather than an hour)?

2hrs tv, probably equates to 100mins of action but it has been confirmed by hbo,'however I thought it was only 5???

Strong rumours, as posted earlier, that there's an agreement for cinema release on a weekly basis!
