Game of Thrones

So it seems the show runners are going for this love triangle between Tyrion, Jon (AKA Aegon) and Daenerys.... eventually making Tyrion a antagonist, betraying Daenerys and turning on Aegon.

This was in George R.R Martin's earlier plans, he intended to have Jon Snow fall in love with Arya, but thought it would be more practical for the family remember to be Daenerys. Once Jon fell in love with Arya, Tyrion would then enter the fray!

The following is written by George R.R. Martin.

"Exiled, Tyrion will change sides, making common cause with the surviving Starks to bring his brother down, and falling helplessly in love with Arya Stark while he’s at it. His passion is, alas, unreciprocated, but no less intense for that, and it will lead to a deadly rivalry between Tyrion and Jon Snow."

Wife had it on this morning, so I'm being exposed to it. Is there any need for the '****' word to be used at all? What does it add to the story line?

Fabulous.

Great way for Little finger to bite the big one. Hoisted by his own petard.

Bran, AKA The Three Eyed Raven, isn't quite the all seeing intelligence gathering machine we thought he was. He can only see what he wants to see or wants to find out from clues he is given. If there are no clues or crumbs of information for him to explore then it remains hidden from him and he can't see it.

Thoughts on last night
  • Tyrions face at the end, is he jealous or does he think like previous a lover for Danny is a distraction and makes her vulnerable?
  • The wall, in series 3 it was shown the wall melts, and benjen stated the enchantments are deep in the ice forming a barrier, we know touching bran destroyed similar barriers at the old tree. So a combination of bran passing and the dragons fire melting the wall probably broke the enchantment much like a circle of salt is supposed to protect from demons in folklore, but if broken is useless.
  • Little finger - his story was done and there was nowhere else to carry the charactor on imho, winterfell is going to be the base for the war and so many people who know what a trecherous man he is will be there , so he would have died anyway. Made sense that Sansa was his judge.
  • Cearsi- what a woman amd what happened to the rumoured misscarriage?
  • Jamie will join the rest and hopefully Bronn and all will form a band of brothers for the fight ahead. (maybe he will hook up with brienne).
  • Brienne and the hound like proud parents talking about Arya.
  • Tormund and Beric died or survived? I hope it's survived.

Good episode. I'm super curious how things are gonna pan out once Jon and Danny find out Jon's real father. Besides the obvious "oh I just fucked my aunt" there is the fact he is heir to the throne. I don't think she will take that well at all considering she has spent most of her life getting to where she is now. I don't think Jon would want the throne but I could see her turning on him the moment she finds out. And then there is the question of how the north will react. He still has Stark blood but will they follow a Targaryen? And we have to wait 2 years to find out.

I don't see why everyone is using spoiler tags when discussing the current episode. last week I didn't watch it till Wednesday so I stayed off this thread till I'd seen it. not hard is it. if it's a genuine spoiler like a plot leak fair enough.

Anyway, I'm wondering what tyrion and cersie talked about, does he know about the not sending her army north, was it even his idea? He said he always did what's best for his family saying he disuaded Danny from attacking kings landing. its going to be one hell of a battle in the next series.

Its not going to be a love triangle, Tyrion will turn against them if Danny becomes pregnant which she will thanks to all the hamfisted "I can never have a child" lines she repeated four of five times in the last 3 episodes.

Tyrion was in the last episode talking about succession plans for After they won and wanting basically democracy - a system like the nights watch electing their leader.

When there's a Targeryian heir that will go out of the window and with it Tyrions dream of the circle of monarchy->rebellion->monarchy->Rebellion that's been going on for hundreds of years.

Also at this point Tyrions not going to have a love triangle with anyone the opportunities for that story arc came and went when he was married to Sansa
