Back on track.

Is Garcia saying or going?

Going by the looks of it. Hope we pulll this off for the fee mooted. Cracking bit of business for a good but not great player. Never looked a true City player. I never once thought he'd be a starter for us and command a big role for us.

He finished well and is nearing his prime. He cando better than his role at our club and wish all the best to him.
Agreed, he can do well at Zenit and we've hit the stage in our overall development where we need to start filling the squad with up and coming young players from the academy and/or purchases like Zuculini. It's a win for both clubs and the player if this goes through I think.

Anything over 8m would be fantastic imo,so talk of 12-15 is mindblowing.

Surely with such a net spend we aren't finished in the market?

We can't bring any more foreign players in unless we sell more foreign players though and I don't see any homegrown players improving us.

I think we will try and get our net spend as low as possible giving us a decent kitty to work with next summer.

You never know if a projected net spend this summer was part of breaking even this season.

I think our squad is ready to go once Mangala comes in.

If we can get 20 for Rodwell and Garcia I expect Pellers would jump at the opportunity to sell Nastastic if it meant he gets the player he really wants...Isco.

Nastasic counts as U21 for one more season then he becomes classified as a foreign player, so even if we sold him we would still have to sell another foreign player.

To get Isco in Negredo would have to leave.

Not necessarily. Nastastic will allow us to raise the money needed to by Isco. We can keep Negredo and just not register him for the CL in the group stages and then reevaluate in January (depending on what the injury situation looks like). And for the record I am in the DON'T sell Nastastic camp.

I'm sure he'll go for that if you put it to him like that...

He works for City...not the other way around. I don't know why he would get a say in the matter if it meant we could get the player that we want.

Come on, use your head. Being the only senior player in the squad to be left out of the Champions League group stages isn't going to sit well with anyone.

Good idea leaving out the fella who bagged 5 group stage goals last season though.

Your basing this on the club's apparent "want" for Isco when there's really be no sign of that being the case.

Seeing as the sale of Garcia is too accommodate Mangala without breaking the limit of foreign players, signing Isco on top of that would mean we would have to sell another foreign player to comply with the league rules, not just drop someone like Negredo from the CL squad.

Look, I am not looking for a fight. Does City want Isco? I don't know. Did Pellers want him last summer? Yes. Is he the kind of player that would fit into our system? Yes. Are we light on Attacking Mids? I personally think we are. If Negredo's injury is going to sideline him for some time (which I think is possible) it wouldn't make a lot of sense to register him for a competition where he likely won't feature anyway. In January will we have a foreign player out injured? Quite possibly.

I was simply offering a scenario where we could in fact sign Isco without selling a foreign player.

Who's looking a fight? I'm just saying your reasoning is wrong, we would have to sell a foreign player.

Signing Mangala and selling Javi would sit us at 17 foreign players, the limit.

If we bring in Isco we would then have 18 and would have to sell someone else to comply with the league squad restrictions. Champions League wise it's even worse as we can only register 16 foreign players.

Well he's not in St Petersburg yet as I saw him in Spinningfields 20 minutes ago, does that make me officially ITK?! ;-)

You are right...my math was wrong. Cheers.

A mate of mine has flown out to Malaga this morning and has just text to say Javi Garcia was on his flight. I know no more than that but I know the guy who has given the info well and he's a season ticket holder at City so I trust the info to be correct. The plot thickens.

Fuck knows what the relevance of flying to Spain would be, however I'm sure we will soon learn of his being out of the country, if true.

He's hardly going to be nipping home 48 hours before a game though... :-)

Could have left the iron on ;)

City probably would be willing to let Garcia go if we get a good bid, but the move would have to be right for him as well. This is being forgotten.

This is where Chelsea do better while selling players,if nasty goes we won't have to sell Garcia and if he has to leave then it should be around 20 m,
