Thanks.

I'm a bit surprised about this I have to admit.

£12m+ is a bit low, but that seems to be the case with every City sale.

12m is fantastic. We were very generous.

Just comparing this fee with that recent one of £15mil for a frequently injured, past his best defender Vermaalen.
I think Javi did a really good job for us last season, and i do hope his areal qualities shall not go missed.
Best of luck to him.

According to the Mirror we are just waiting to hear if he has agreed personal terms.
He better had do ffs. I actually thought he was ok at his job towards the end of last season. I just think it's to good a deal to turn down, especially when we're struggling to get rid of the deadwood.

Difference is Barcelona are now run by mugs and Arsenal are not desperate to sell their only backup centre back. Barca also spunked £15m on an average 30 year old.

Replacing Garcia and Rodwell with Fernando and Zuculini (+ Lampard on loan), with a net profit of £10-12m is unbelievable business.

he's hardly deadwood but a move looks best for both parties.

Rate Garcia would suit a 5 man midfield better because he isn't the most mobile but defensively he is solid. Fernando is better suited to our style of player 12 mil for him is great for a player who we used mostly as cover. Vermaalen is a very good CB who is comfortable on the ball, he suits what Barca want, they are prepared to pay what it takes to get the right player for their style of play a lot like us and Mangala. Vermaalen for 15 mil is a decent deal we are paying 32 mil for a player who has 2 good seasons in a much lower standard league. Barca want the finished article if he can stay injury free they could get 4-5 solid seasons out of him and he could be a bargain at 15mil.

Fair play to Garcia for turning fans' opinions around. He improved greatly in the second half of last season, and was always professional in the way he conducted himself. Not really good enough for where we want to be though; £12m would be excellent business for us if it happens.

When you consider we got less for Robinho, Tevez and Adebayor I think we've done pretty well to come away with 12 mil (if it goes through). There was a point last season that I'd reached the end of my tether with Garcia, but in fairness to him he turned it around and really helped towards securing the title in the end. All in all I'm pleased he's going out like this.

He still hasn't gone you know. Hopefully passes the medical and agrees personal terms and hopefully the reports are true that a bid has been accepted. Though we will know for sure tonight about the bid once we get the squad for the shield.

£12 million would be unbelievable really considering that is the rumoured fee we paid for Fernando.

It's not Garcia is a terrible player, playing every week in a mid table ish side I am sure he would do a decent jb.

No we didn't.

Tevez was also £12m
Robinho was £18m

Good way to look at it, we've upgraded for a net gain in both transfer funds and wage budget.

If we've let him go to a medical then a fee has been agreed although there maybe just the fineprint to finish.
