Garden Birds and wild birds thread.

I made the rookie mistake of leaving my boots out as they were smelling , not my feet, the garden , new boots required , pesky badgers

Dad fox was in charge of the cubs again last night , he is so useless but mum cant do it all, she feeds the family

Please sir, the badgers ate my homework.

Me feeding swans at Kersal Wetlands...I don't know what's happened to the other two cygnets.
Dad swan thinks he's hard!

I have some beatiful butterflies in the garden, from white to what looks like a red admiral with blue tips to the wings , they are having a ball in my nature reserve

I had a tree surgeon here last week who is coming to do some work next week , he said he was delighted what i do with my garden, he says it is a rarity in my town, everyone wants picture book gardens and no real nature to speak off

this is a scrub blackbird, (not my pic), we started to get these in the garden about a year ago. I started to throw them bits of bread which they seemed to really like. After a few months they started to come to the door and sing, so I fed them. A few months later they would come in the house, a bit timid, and sing, so they got fed, now they will come in and sit on the table right in front of us and sing their beautiful song. They do it at least2 times a day and are quite used to us now. They even come to call if I whistle. L know they are not the most beautiful of birds but we have become quite fond of them, these are normally very timid and shy away from humans, we have not managed to get any other birds to come anywhere near us as of yet. however, if we lie in in the morning they come to the bedroom window and sing really loud, but its a nice way to wake up.

Don’t want to dampen your spirits but, having a ball is usually rape in the butterfly world.
