Garden Birds and wild birds thread.

Forget the birds; the bats are flying round my garden feasting for Eid on swarms of insects.

Just had a night party in garden with my girls

All six girl badgers out together ,the lone male wasn't allowed near, the girls were starving as they have been busy with giving birth, they have lost their top coat and they more like a fawn colour

3 babies now,the two that have been coming for a few nights are braver already and coming out so I can see them, the other one was talked to under the shed

Mummy fox nicked some food that I threw out the furthest

Nice end to the day

Johnny Morris is alive and well in Brighton.

Goldfinch mum and dad brought their fledgling to the Niger seed feeder today.
Robin’s busy chasing any bird away that gets near the hedge.
Blue tits and coal tits enjoying the seed and peanut feeders.
Birds queuing up to drink or take a bath in the small water feature at the back of the garden.
Most birds even ignoring us and the dog in the garden, except pigeons. The dog hates pigeons!
We don’t see the field mouse coming out to eat the seeds dropped from the feeder in the evening now the plants gave grown over the edge of the border.

Went for a walk round Poynton pool today.
Much as I don’t like Canada Geese there were two mothers with two goslings each, one pair a few days older and significantly bigger than the other waddling along by the footpath. The goslings were adorable! There were several moorhens and chicks as well making a racket if the dog approached the water’s edge. There were some other handsome geese, smaller than Canada geese that were a light grey colour with their young too milling around.
