Garden Birds and wild birds thread.

Not a cat in hell's chance I will have feeders again, no matter how nice it is to look out at the birds on them.
It's a big loss, love watching the bird's but the whole Close has had to remove it's bird feeders due to the rats.
Fishing at the moment, the Robin looks well and truly pissed off because I have no maggots to feed it.

Squirrels are the biggest pain in the arse in my garden , the birds don't get a look in. They can hang off any branch no matter how flimsy it may be. I want my cat to get one but they're too smart and quick for it to get hold of.

Not sure if you know what an American Robin looks like, they have a red breast like the European version but they're about the size of a blackbird. Some friends and I were standing around the fire pit last evening drinking a beer when we hear the chickens ( who were wandering the back garden) start clucking and making a fuss like they do if a dog gets in. Next second my big old Tom cat comes running around the barn at full speed with a Robin in full pursuit about two feet behind him, maybe two foot off the ground, looked like a fighter plane. The cat ran by us and just made it under the porch before the bird got him, he didn't come back out for about ten minutes, it was pretty damn funny

Why am I not surprised, yank robin's on steroids !

Nice one. I could be wrong but I don't think woodpeckers are common nowadays, especially in a garden. My mate has a couple visit his garden and I was lucky enough to see them feeding a few months ago. He reckons they live in Reddish Vale woods. Lovely birds close up.
Its frustrating when you can hear them in a wood but not see them.
I love knockers but l wish l could see more of them. In both senses.

I wish l could identify the small brown birds. Definitely not sparrows possibly dunnocks.

Very funny incident at the back of us in the orchard.

A large crow had found a piece of toast from somwhere and flew down into the orchard and buried the toast under a pile of cut grass before flying off. Foolishly it did it in full view of a magpie about 20ft away that was also rooting in the cut grass. Not believing its luck it hopped over as fast as it could to get the toast, it was inches away when a jackdaw swooped out of the tree nicking the toast and flying away with it.

Not 30 seconds later back came the crow looking for its toast, finding it gone clearly felt the Magpie was the culprit called it on and gave the Magpie a good cuffing. Very funny to see and you did have to feel for the Magpie who thought it was his lucky day and ended up getting a shoeing off a crow..

That's raven mad

The badgers are back to normal now after their weird behaviour the other night,i am concerned i havent seen zaba's brother or sister for a while,i wonder if it has died ,that would maybe explain why they acted a bit weird, they are normally creatures of habit

If zaba wasnt so small you would think it was an adult,it is out and about and just mucking in ,suppose you have to grow up quickly in a family of twelve

Does anyone know how i can get a video from my phone or amazon fire to post on here?
