He'll never go for more than 30 millions, you guys are becoming such deluded set of people, it's not normal anymore
If we turned down 40m for Modric we'd probably do the same for Bale, he's what, four years younger and the same number of years on his contract?
I honestly think the only club he'll end up at is Real Madrid anytime soon. Money-wise there is you, PSG and Madrid that can afford him. You folks don't offer the experience that Bale would want in my opinion, he has spoke about interest in playing abroad in the future and who can blame him? It would probably be a great experience for him, Manchester doesn't have the same draw, and PSG can't offer him the same standard of football/prestige as Madrid so I'd put money down that if he moves in the next 2/3 seasons it'll be to Madrid. As long as Bale does as best as he can whilst he's here I wouldn't begrudge him to compete at the highest level with Madrid in 3 seasons or so.
I don't think Barca's an option considering how much wedge they've spent on Villa/Sanchez to play on the left so for the near future that's a no go.
If I was Bale and my club had just slapped a £150M price tag on me, I'd be straight on to my agent and asking why I wasn't getting the wages to go with my apparent status.
Spurs seem to be very good at putting superstar prize tags on their players, whilst paying them wages similar to a mid table journeyman.
I have asked before where this 150m tag has come from to no avail.
I'm happy that our club has a strict wage structure.
This may perhaps sound like a dig but it is genuinely interesting as I've said on here before I have some man city family links, but I never thought I'd see the day that man city fans were complaining about Spurs supposedly not paying their players enough money. Personally I don't know what the hell I'd do with 50k a week nevermind 100k/150k whatever. Gareth Bale comes across as a pretty grounded lad, doesn't drink, doesn't gamble, doesn't get in fights in nightclubs, doesn't punch ex girlfriends etc etc I think moneywise he knows he is going to be pretty much set, I think he has a curiousity in him that will eventually lead to him plying his trade abroad but not for the sake of being able to earn ridiculous money.
I'd say buy acquiring these so called superstar players for little money and their agents agreeing to long term contracts we have no reason to make any excuse for how much we ask for them transfer-wise, Levy presumably doesn't have a gun to the agent's head as he signs a 5 year contract for his player on mid table journeyman wages
