This could be up there with the didsbury dave post of 2009 regarding tevez 'he's not very good'

He's just fast lol

Johnson gets flak due to his inability to get away from defenders, when bale beats the full back he stays gone, he doesn't put a bad ball in either by all accounts.......

In this team bale would become the most dangerous player in the league, up there with the tranny for influence!!!!

Bollocks - read some of the Spuds forums - Bale has hardly been going past teams this season also

Teams that defend with 10 and compress space will negate much of Bales pace (like AJ now he will be faced with two defenders and no space to run behined the defenders - at least AJ has a trick or two)

Tevez had a reputation well earned befoe he joinned us - a top international player proven in the prem top performer compared to Bale's CL performances two seasons ago which is what most people remember him for

Tevez stood out at West Ham even though collectively they were a poor team

And again another poster who looks at opinion rather than forming his own - read the fucking spurs forums, christ almighty.

How many teams did we murder last year by them sitting back with 10 men behind the ball?
The very fact you just compared johnson to having a trick or two to bale is a classic, do you actually watch any football or just read opinion of the game on websites>? you know fuck all SON!

And why you justifying tevez to me? read the sentence again!!!!

I do have my own views as you have read - i have seen Bale a few times (Dont watch Spurs week i week out so its quite normal / sensible to seek out information from people whom do watch him week in week out) and many Spuds fans do and they aint that impressed.

I dont know which Bale you watch - this world class talent whom plays for Spurs aint been seen much this season apart from a few odd occasions

The amount if shit AJ get from people on this board make me fookin cringe

i'm worried if Modric does go to united before we sign Bale (that's if we are even in for him) it'll be near enough impossible to convince Tottenham to sell him to us. Redknapp said plenty of times last season it would be stupid to sell their best players.

I think it could go one of two ways - either this as you described or it could blow everything apart - ie Arry wont be too chuffed and may well go - certainly Bale - RvP would look at their options, cant see Ade staying.

Wil be fun to watch but i think Levy may well hold on to Bale

I find Bale to be very much in the Ski Sunday mould.

Now that IS out of the box.....................is it the big boots he wears or always looks cold?

He would flourish in our team. Next season when we're away from home and teams are sticking 11 men behind the ball he will be perfect player to unlock defences. Beating a few and freeing up more space for Silva and Yaya.

No teams will put 10 men nehind the ball compress the space and Bale will get the same Flak as AJ currently does

Bale should have been a stand out performer for the Spuds hw wasnt - teams that win the prem have players whom oerforman consistently well over a season - Bale and others did not and that is why Spuds crashed

If we as a club are going to break a British transfer record between prem clubs which is what it will take to get him i would seriously hope we would spend it on a top top player whom is proven to deliver at the top top level

Thats why we paid top money for Yaya and Aguero - players whom when it matterd delivered and justified their wages and transfer fee and Bale quite frankly is no where near then = he is just fookin fast
bale is worth nowhere near what levy is saying.if he is worth 40mil then what are our players worth

Not sure what that point is about? When you say 'nowhere near 40m' - how 'near' exactly do you value him? When you say 'what our players are worth' - which ones and when are you valuing them?

When you consider that buffoon Caroll cost 35m (?) and Torres 50m- I think Bale is worth more than 40m. Bale is a better player than: Clichy,Lescott,Barry,NDJ, AJ, Dzeko,Kolarov,Nasri,Milner etc.

And to say Bale is 'just fast' - is just arrant nonsense - were you at our place when he tore us apart and scored a memorable unstoppable goal from the edge of the area, and was the best player on the pitch, utterly terrorising our midfield and defence?

I actually think he would get into ANY team in the world - because he is world class............................

He scored a decent goal and then fluffed his lines at the end with his cross to Defoe; he was far from the best player on the pitch.

And even further from being world class

I do think Bale is a quality player and would massively improve our side but the people who are saying he is world class seriously don't know a lot about football. The guy had half a good season with spurs and detroyed a very poor Inter Milan at the San Siro and people think he is on par with Messi. For me Bale is on par with Valencia from the rags the difference being ever since Bale has been hyped up he has tried to over perform. Bale is unstoppable when he plays as a winger but when he tries to play infield he is very ineffective. But at City we have Silva and Nasri who are much more effective in the middle of the park and that would let us play Bale to his strengths and IMO Bale could become the best and most effective WINGER in the world.

I'm not an advocate for or against signing Bale. Truth be told, I literally can't my mind up about him. Sometimes I think he's amazing, and others I don't. I'll let the professional football managers make those decisions.

Anyway, the reason I'm responding to this post is because Bale didn't fluff anything with that cross. It was Defoe who moved his run deeper into the box which meant he couldn't get enough distance. If he'd ran straight he would have tapped it home.

Sorry, but Bale had an eternity to cross/pass to Defoe but held onto it too long

Jordan Henderson = £20m
Adam Johnson must = £30m
So Gareth Bale must = £40m

Working the other way David Silva = £25m
So Modric must be £15m

He's playing for Spurs, not Man Utd, City or Barcelona.

Bale skinned Inter Milan to an within an inch of their lives at the San Siro and performed well against Madrid as well.

IMO if Bale decided to move to our club I feel that he would become an even better player. When you take someone who is still young and already has ability, they need to be under the management of someone who can take them that step further, Bobby can do that and so can Bale if he plays alongside the likes of Silva, Aguero, Tevez, Yaya etc.

Players can only learn at a level that their team plays at and at what their manager is capable of. In order to progress they need to adapt and move on. Bale to sign for us would be a good move for both

Agree to disagree then. But even 'Arry said Defoe moved in to early, as well as MOtD pundits IIRC.

Ah yes, Twitcher, Hansen and Lawrenson; the fountain of all knowledge.

Yes I don't like them much either, but when it comes to football they do generally know what they're talking about, and certainly more than the average person.

I still maintain that Bale was as much to blame for the miss than Defoe was
