Gareth Bale

he is a typical winger . on is day he looks world class but when its not going is way, he can look average. but he is only 22 years old and could improve considerable, especially under RM.

It makes me laugh when people say this, does it mean that Kompany is a failed defensive midfielder?

When players develop, certain managers can see players in differant roles it doesn't mean they've failed, it means they've regenerated into a new position.

I would be absolutely ecstatic if we sign bale. He could be a phenomenon at city under the guidance of mancini and in a team with so many other threats he will get the space to tear teams apart. Bale has the potential to go right to the very, very top of the game
 
Being welsh, never helped giggs on the world stage,never had an opportunity to play in a world cup or at a euros,he should of chose England,but he didnt! So probably certain Bale will never either,if he comes to us he will make a huge impact,we have only lacked pace at times on the break,away from home and in Europe,he would improve as a player at city and take his game to another level,and we would have another string to our offensive play!if he doesn't come or were not in for him so be it. (in Mancini I trust)

Johnson gets flak due to his inability to get away from defenders, when bale beats the full back he stays gone, he doesn't put a bad ball in either by all accounts.......

In this team bale would become the most dangerous player in the league, up there with the tranny for influence!!!!

Bollocks - read some of the Spuds forums - Bale has hardly been going past teams this season also

Teams that defend with 10 and compress space will negate much of Bales pace (like AJ now he will be faced with two defenders and no space to run behined the defenders - at least AJ has a trick or two)

Tevez had a reputation well earned befoe he joinned us - a top international player proven in the prem top performer compared to Bale's CL performances two seasons ago which is what most people remember him for

Bale has shown what ability he has playing in a decent side. If he signed for us and played with our current squad and under a manager such as Bobby he would only get better.
 
I personally think Bale is a fantastic player, and its all well and good for us to argue amongst ourselves if hes good or not but have we even been linked for him? How do we know were in for him, has Tolm said out? I hope we are but I just cant see it.

Whether we are or not seems irrelevant. Dealing with Levy will be like dealing with Milan. The only hope we'd have of pushing it through is Bale handing in a transfer request and stating categorically that he's finished at Spurs and wants to leave, like Modric should have done last summer. They will no doubt be looking at themselves thinking, "If I'd gone to Chelsea and you'd gone to City, I would have had another 50k PW on my wage packet and a CL winners medal, you'd have 50k PW on yours and a Premier League winners medal.. Why the fuck are we still here?".
 
The half-volley cross at WHL against us last August right to Crouch's head (who somehow missed) is still probably the best cross I've ever seen.
 
This will be a long drawn out saga and will more than likely run until the deadline shuts. They did it with Berbatov.

Bale would just truely be a fantastic signing!
Pace, energy, goals, crossing what a weapon he would be storming through with Ya Ya the oppostions defence whould shit themselves!
 
If we signed just Bale this window I'd be happy, would fill the biggest deficiency within our squad.
 
I rate bale highly. And at 22 can only get better - the times we have tried to hit on the break to only pull back as we can't break quick enough. Just imagine bale, yaya, silva, aguero, nasri....

Then dzeko, tevez, mario all waiting for there chance.....

City need to be challenging in champions league next year - we're not gonna do that without some pace on the wings.
