if we are selling Dzeko whats the point in buying a winger like bale, who's main strengh is crossing, Aguero and tevez rarely score headed goals

Where does it say in the rule book crosses must be high? or that someone who plays out wide must cross the ball?

Johnson would be less likely as they don't have a shortage of wingers even if they lose Bale. This IMHO could have some truth with Adebayor though.

Lennon, Pienaar,Danny Rose, Bentley (if Redknapp goes) Andros Townsend plus they can get width from their fullbacks. Is this a fishing trip?

I don't see why people say Bale is a one dimensional player who can only play on the wing and knock the ball past a player and run. He plays like this because that's the way Redknapp and Tottenham play. I think it's quite insulting to a player to say thats all he can do just because he's told to play like that. I think with Mancini guiding him he could be a great player for us and be something very different to what we have already got.

If he was to sign for us it doesn't necessarily mean he's going to get stuck on the left side of the pitch hugging the touch line for 90 minutes but it does mean we'd have a player in the team who could do that for us and do it well.

Just as another plus point, he did start out as a left back didn't he? I may be wrong but if he did, it does add even more flexibility to our squad.

Some fans think our team is the finished article. Far from it for where we want to be. Van persie & bale would excellent signings!

Need a CB and CM. Lescott and Barry improvements and team remains unchanged bar them. Lescott and Barry then provide rotation to strengthen depth and we replace any outgoing strikers (preferably Tevez).

That is all we need.

If you watch Bales game he hardly ever crosses the ball high, he'll either beat the full back and drill it in low or he'll cut inside to link up with vdv or have a crack himself.

Yeah I remember it

Everyone has this perception that a winger is only on the pitch to cross the ball, far from it.

You very rarely see Young for the rags or Robben for Munch crossing the ball, they're wide to stretch and switch the play to gain an advantage and along with pace it's very effective.

Naive.... if we didn't spend a penny for the next few seasons and rags/Chelsea blew hundreds of millions, they'd still be praised for their astute shopping, yet when we came back to shop in the market we'd be labelled as moneybags, dirty arabs blahdeblah...

Bale/RVP sends out a big F*ck you message to the London press, they are probably the best talents in those two big London clubs and although I feel we have more to see from Dzeko (much more) RVP would be a superb acquisition, as would Bale.... who is a much better upgrade from Kolarov

Rose and Bentley definitely aren't good enough for them, Townsend is young and not yet reliable and Pienaar is certainly on the way out. Maybe but what Adam Johnson lacks is pace which is what Tottenham rely on. I will be probably wrong on this one but I don't see them really going for someone like AJ, Sunderland possible but his wage demands seem to put them off.
