Gareth Bale

Saw on the Daily Mail that Bale has a £75 million buy-out clause.

I'd take him for that. Not convinced about the article though as the buy-out clause seems a bit low, they usually have them stupidly high in Spain for the top players.

75m £ clause wouldn't make any sense at all.

It will be in euros in his contract, probably 100 million.
Exchange rate plummeted since they signed him so would look less expensive now in pounds.
Allegedly RM paid about 90M euro and was about 77M pounds at the time.

Levy is smart cookie and probably had a clause allowing spurs to buy him back for what RM paid. That's where the 75M might be coming from.

Sign him for 60-75M on 5 year deal and make performance a big factor in his pay could mean a good deal.

Real Madrid don't work quite the same as other clubs. It doesn't matter if Bale wants to stay and fight for his place, he is likely to be the political weapon as depending on Real's season they may have a huge fallout which sees a lot of heads roll. It wouldn't be like our fans disliking a player and calling for him to be dropped etc - it would be a full on war against him. The media would slag him off, the fans would boo him every game. They don't care - they're a different breed of people Real fans, they want the biggest names to perform for the club but if they don't win anything and everything they soon want out with the old and in with the new. Like spoilt children I'd say.

There's a definite opportunity to sign him this summer and we should be trying to in my opinion.

I feel pretty bad for him, i know his wage will soften the hurt but still. If a gang of people attacked my car your fucking right i would shit myself.
I think their fans are a total disgrace personally and if i were him i would leave and flip them the bird on the way out, wankers.

Oh yeah i would defo have him here, works hard, not a ****. Also just one of his hard runs towards the goal will get the crowd going and in turn the rest of the players. He is one of the few who imo can inspire through effort.

Ditto, to the whole post

Bale is the one player we should be focusing on this summer, if we go and blow £50+million on Sterling who once his pace starts to go either from injury or age will be as fucking useless as Aaron Lennon, he can't take a set piece or cross or head a ball etc we'd be fucking mad. Bale is the outstanding player that could be available and that ticks every single box that we need. We let them red counts get him we'll have allowed them back in to the game

This is the player I really want to see come to city, pace, not a prima donna and british.
