Between the post match interview and Zidane's comments today it certainly looks like he could be moving on. Normally I'd say this has United written all over it but it would honestly be a crime for Woodward to buy another £90m forward on Sanchez wages (because he's not coming for less) given the needs elsewhere in that team. He's great on his day mind you, but 29 in July, injured every season (exhibit a being his complaint that he was ONLY injured five weeks this year but has been fit since), and has a game that may not age well. In two years him and Sanchez could be an absolute anchor on that wage bill.

Just that Madrid have won 4 UCLs with their team built around Ronaldo.
Barca 3 UCLs with the team built around Messi.
United won their last one with the team built around Ronaldo.
Munich won it with Robben and Ribery being the reference points.
Chelsea and Inter shithoused one respectively so won't count that and we'll never do that anyway.
That's the last 10-11 years for you.

Also, it's a HUGE fallacy that our team isn't built around one or two players. It pretty much is and his name is Kevin De Bruyne.

However, I don't remember the last time a team won the UCL with an MF as its focal point. Sooner or later we're going to need that arrogant prick high on confidence in the forward line because they're usually the ones changing/deciding games in knockout ties of UCL (the only weakness of our club in the past 10 years).
Huge fallacy? erm ok then,we are not a 1 man team or haven't you been paying attention

90m for a 29 year old you say?

According to Jamie Redknapp if Bale goes to United then they can make up the 19 points they fell behind us last season.

So that's United and Liverpool, who'll also pluck an extra 25 points out of their arse, who'll catch us next season.

I'm sure Pep's shitting himself.

If Silva dictates the game, what the hell has KDB been doing in a deeper role since November?

And yeah, and I remember Barca winning the UCL and 2 league titles when the team was revived and built around Ronaldinho. Do you remember that?

Xavi and Iniesta were really lucky weren’t they? Won a CL with a team “built around” Ronaldinho, then went straight in to a team that won 3 CL that was “built around” Messi.

Who was the Spanish team “built around” that they won 2 Euro’s and a World Cup? David Villa? Is that how it works? The top scorer is the one the team is “built around”?

I love the way this story is written. It's basically saying that the rags can move for Bale because we're not interested. That is saying that the balance of power is with us and implies that we would be a first choice for prospective players. That might be obvious to us, but it's good to see it subtly recognised in the national press.

Yes, even the media are starting to accept that we're the biggest show in town. From a footballing angle I'd prefer them not to sign Bale but if they're splurging £150m+ and another £30m a year in wages on a 29 year old with a 5 year contract I could come to terms with it!

Jamie Catflap the font of all knowledge- not.
