I was thinking about his wages yesterday. Let’s say he take a 50% pay cut. That’s still £300k p/w, around 15 million a season. That is a lot of money for someone who is likely to be miss a high percentage of games. He’s simply not worth even half his current salary, that’s why they can’t shift him

Sorry I don't fully understand whether you are agreeing or not, but to clarify: I personally would not chase money.

I could have, in the past, in my line of work & chose quality over shite + money.

Brexit may fuck that up for me, but I'd choose it again, as I'm fucking good & have had much pleasure out of it.

Someone on utter shite wages might need to be more pragmatic. That’s hardly the case here. He may think he’s smart to maximise every penny in the bank before retiring, but how much does anyone need? He will NEVER get his playing years back.

Apparently the Chinese Govt have imposed huge taxes on foreign import player wages. Fifty percent so to match his half mill Madrid wages of half a mill he is paid one mill.

A bit harsh - If R Madrid put that contract in front of him or course he is going to sign it.

Couple of years down the line and they regret it because the new manager has a personal dislike of him - what is he supposed to do? Feel sorry for them and accept whatever solution they put in front of him?
