wish the relocated fans that turn up in the southstand for european games would realise this, barry is brilliant for us. because he isnt fast or doesnt have the vision of silva doesn't mean he's shit and should be sold.

this i moved a few rows back from my season ticket seat in 116 and a bit across to 117 and there were some obvious new twats in there, the guy i was sat next to was sound as were the people in front who were obviously regulars there,

behind though were 2 or 3 complete numpties slating barry the most and pretty much every time we misplaced a pass, one of them even said "can't believe how these beat napoli, they are shit!" to which me and the guy next to me turned round at the same time and told him they didn't whilst laughing to each other. he was also chanting munich at every single opportunity, mainly when rossi got the ball.

not sure what it was but there was so much negativity in the SS last night, it seemed as though many wanted to have a go at the team rather than get behind them. like people have mentioned we have a lot of decent fans but also a lot of dick heads.

There is a season ticket holder in the row behind me who is just as bad if not worse. Thankfully most of the time he is as quiet as a mouse (ie if were winning, it actually wouldnt surprise me if he wept a little whenever we scored, In the 3 yrs since he moved to the seat i have not once heard him cheer or shout encouragement) mercifully he knows so little about football i can actually have a chuckle at the utter tripe he comes out with, as we all know everyone is entitiled to an opinion and at the end of the day we sit 2ft apart every fortnight so there is no point in pulling him up.

towards the left of 116 is where i stand, lovely people on that side. alot of people move to the south stand for the atmosphere, but the majority spend the game looking at the opposition supporters and try to look menacing behind a line of stewards. thats what got me against napoli, yes the fans are intriguing but to slag off one of our best, underrated players after spending 0 minutes watching him play does my nut in.

thought GB had significant impact last night - not been his biggest fan but credit where due he has been excellent this season esp when NDJ out for so long. think bobby needs to look at the Silva/Nas pairing at the expense of GB -- cos apart frm Spuds away they seem to struggle to get the balance esp in CL. but hey as another poster said weve lost 1 in 20 - and Bobby has got it sorted !! roll on sunday at the swamp.

The GazBaz sub was a good one, and am a big admirer of him, he keeps it simple and effective whilst others get the glory.

That said, for long periods in the second half we were second best in the midfield, Villareal passed around us with great effect by playing give 'n go triangles. We did look a bit static while that was going on.

Agree re getting passed around -- its certainly a steep learning curve in CL -- we dont get passed around in PL much with our squad but technically these guys at CL level are all more than capable ... and more experienced at it . we just have to learn quickly to adapt -- ive no doubt the players are good enough -- they just have to learn not to switch off at this level , tracking back etc. cos opponents are in different class to what we "rollover" week in week out . but we doin ok n we can only improve.

Every time Barry plays and doesn't make a mistake, there is a thread about it.

He put in an adequate performance and did nothing to merit special attention. Only Milner and Kolarov merited special mention in my mind.

Barry and Milner dont get the credit for what they do for the team . They have been excellent when called upon this season. Milner is getting better and better

Barry has been class all season, some players get slated for every little error and he seems to be one of them. Now NDJ can seem to do no wrong although it was him that gave the ball away for the goal on Tues night........remember when Barry did it? every man and his dog was having a go

Gaz Baz came on last night and instantly stopped the doubling up on Kolarov and niled the threat which Villereal had posed down our left side.

My only concern is playing Barry, NDJ and Yaya in the same starting line up as imo we then seem to be too deep when in possesion.

Barry and Milner on the pitch at the same time works a treat, they click, one drops when the other commits.

its a problem we have but a nice problem too..
