Gareth Barry

before today i was wondering what was happening with him, but that was some performance from him today, breaking play up and distributing the ball well, ball to bellers for 2nd was class

all in all, welcome back the REAL Barry

The balance was there with Barry and De jong today. Gareth plays so much better with a little license to get forward.

This was the difference today, got forward at the right times to support the attack.

yeh i noticed this aswell, he seemed more attacking at times and was even brushing shoulders with Tevez, seemed to get forward alot more.

Gb was class, but can you name a bad player today

Don't mean to rain on our parade, but Richards was dire.

Anelka cut inside and beat him again and again and again and again. He was painful.
Fair point but Anelka's no slouch and does the same against most defenders.

I do not understand some people on this forum. All season long people been slaggin Barry off and now theres a 5page thread of how good he is. Yes he was outstanding today, can people not see what he gives the team week in week out. He is definitley my first choice midfielder for me.
Now we need to keep this momentum going till the end of the season if we want that 4th place spot!

When we bought GB,i did think an excellent addition to the squad. He aint really done it often enough for me,,BUT TODAY the guy was immense.League leaders,Champions elect,C.L. 2NDfavs,on their own patch,Barry got stuck right in there.Well done Gareth,WELCOME TO MANCHESTER.

I don't really like the bloke and I've ripped into him on a few occasions this season but he was superb this afternoon. A couple of the passes he played were subtly brilliant and completely opened the final third up. It was more like the 06-08 Barry than the Barry we've been seeing up to this point. I was sat with the Chelsea fans this afternoon and all the ones I spoke to said the same. In fairness, they were a good bunch of fans.

Richards was shadowing Anelka too far forward with his chest facing his own goal line....don't really matter what other defenders do....thats proper shit, don't take my word for it...lets wait and see what the Iti makes of it.

Barry played well, got a lot of craft about him...so did Dejong and Zab, for all Zabs shortcomings the fella did very well threw into a midfield slot against Chelsea.

In the midfield he was the differance breaking forward when he can and getting the penalty when he siezed upon Bolleti's dithering. For me he if he can do that more regular then he can be the missing link that we've trying to crow bar Ireland into

Barry only gets slated because he is always involved ,he never shirks a game even if he is not playing the best ,the more you have the ball the more you get noticed and if a couple go astray you tarred as shit ...Lets keepthis up and keep behind the team now ,forget managers past and get behind and unite ,come on we are city from maine road......
