Gareth Barry

If football was played in wheel chairs he'd be world class - he lacks so much mobility it's unreal! Sunderland had a 20 year old making his home league debut who completely outshone him. :-x

what a load of crap, he's a great player, the sort you miss when he is not in the team.

why post shit like this anyway?

Does far more than he gets credit for and how many of the doom and gloomers think Capello is a crap manager?

prat.....Barry is class and is the main cog in our team, he was my MOTM at Sunderland...brilliant player.

I wouldn't go that far, Lescott was MOTM by far, barry had a good 15 minutes, apart from that he had a shocker, he nearly and could of easily got himself sent off, and i don't even wanna mention his first half.

quality player but never MOTM.

Me, I've been as critical as anybody of Barry, in the past. To be fair to the guy though, I actually think that he has started to settle in (as has Lescott) in the last few games.
Yes, he had a poor first half, yesterday. The whole team did, in fact - and I'd be inclined to put that down to the fact that the City team not had a game together in a fortnight but Sunderland were in action during the week; rather than a sudden lack of quality.
I thought that his professionalism and versatility were a credit to him in the second half, yesterday.
He's still a way off of his best, though.

Incredibly easily replaceable. Been over this a million times, hes not been bad recently (and had his best game at Chelsea); but ive been really let down with him since he came. Thought he could have turned out to be our best signing, but his performances have definitely let me down. Not found himself in any kind of consistent form all season, in such a crucial position.

Id definitely replace the guy in the first 11 with the resources we have. However, i'd rotate with him or De Jong depending on our opposition, with Nige being the preferred choice of the two.

As for England, id sooner have Carrick.

Was poor yesterday but he needs another proper midfielder along side him. Earns brownie points for losing it at that mackem player, who shit himself and din't wanna know

The bloke can't tackle, just trots from bob to box aimlessly, also far to overweight.

You have never played football to a decent level obviously, any one who knows jack-shit about football can see Barry is class...and overweight? he is built like a brick-shit house and does not have any fat on him, look how slim his waist is.

You ruined your argument completely with that last line.

I do not agree with you. But that is not important. However........

The England MANAGER does not agree with you. I think Gerrard and Lampard have both stated previously that they like playing in the same team for England as Barry and have praised him on many occasions. Gerrard actually waged an advertising campaign trying to 'sell' Liverpool to Barry....remember?

Barry IS better in the position he plays for England and maybe City should try him there and drop De Jong sometimes? (Not sure about dropping DJ tbf but it is certainly an OPTION).

Carrick isa not half the player of Barry you tool, Carrick is on the bench for England because Barry is a far better player.

We don't need Brick shithouses, we need athletes, he's just a plodder. If you'd have seen Bell play, you'd know what I was saying, Bell would have been there and back while Barry was thinking about it.

If you do not rate Barry you know fuck all about football mate, not all players need to run like a madman., players with brains make the ball do the work..e.g Glen Hoddle, Matt Le tissier. Garath Barry.

Funny that, I thought he was made in same shipyard as Dunney, he didn't have a lot up top neither.
Lets just say he has a bit more up top than you mate.

-- Mon Mar 15, 2010 10:46 pm --

Todays players are athletes mate, not fat boozers like in the old days.
Rodney Marsh makes Garath Barry look like Kate Moss.

I will never understand Barry from 1 extreme to the other. From playing his best football in months at Chelsea to bog standard in the next game. He is consistant at being the most inconsistant player at the club. 1 good game then your waiting for him to kick on and he just back to bog standard. He was bought to boss the midfield and hasn't done it for 1 reason or another add some experience and it hasn't worked out so far. We are seeing what Villa fans have seen in the past years when he was there. He is no better than what we already had at the club when we signed him.

i don't rate barry id have ireland anyday but he has been playing loads better recently and is actually getting stuck in
