Gareth Barry

The rumour is inter want him in the summer. For the reported money if he will go I would take their arm off. Give Milner his place. He's still a decent player but time is not on his side.

I heard £17 million was the figure they were will to pay? For that money I wouldnt think twice!

I was pointing out how inappropriate your comment was. There are very few players in the world who could cope with Ozil breaking one on one. Your comment is irrelevant.

Come off it, it was fucking embarrassing. Its not like it was a straight race, Barry had a 10 yard start on him in a 30 yard race and lost by 5 yards. Barry moved like he was running through treacle with ice skates on so when I am talking about how slow Barry is I think its extremely relevant and appropriate to give examples of said slowness! He was up against Ozil not Usain Bolt!

Luckily City are a bit better organised than that England team, and he doesn't find himself having to cover for an AWOL right-back on his own very often.

He'd no doubt do well in Italian football, his style of play is perfect for the current Euro champions.. and is why Bobby won't entertain losing him.
Milner doesn't have Barry's attributes and therefore couldn't replace him.

Don't get me wrong, I love the players like Nigel who's work for the team often goes under the radar, but Gareth Barry is not good enough for where we want to be. He's a good squad player yes, but when youve got an eleven which already contains a De Jong in it, then Barry doesn't offer the team enough to be in our strongest side. De Jong is the vastly superior defensive midfielder in several aspects, and I just don't get the Barry love-in on here at all. He rarely has a poor game, but when has he ever excelled in a blue shirt; just what does he offer us that NDJ doesnt? Slow, rarely wins a tackle, has become overly sloppy in possession (especially away from home) and offers us nothing going the other way. Like a previous poster said, I'd give Milner a few more games in central midfield once NDJ gets back, and hopefully he'll find his Villa form. Failing that, drop Yaya deeper and put silva at the head of the three, choosing 3 upfront from a possible 4 of Dzeko/balo/tevez and johno when they're all fit.

Central midfield is still a BIG issue, a position we still havent got the right balance in, and our poorer performances have all highlighted this.

Dejongs work goes under who's radar..?
I wouldn't say Barry could do Dejongs job, I doubt many could... in the same way Milner couldn't do Barry's job.
But since when has choosing Barry or Dejong been an issue? we've had our best results with both in the side as they both have different roles.

I'm a big fan, but he's been way below par recently

sloppy in and out of possesion.

wake the fuck up before our season is over, gareth.
