Don't get me wrong, I love the players like Nigel who's work for the team often goes under the radar, but Gareth Barry is not good enough for where we want to be. He's a good squad player yes, but when youve got an eleven which already contains a De Jong in it, then Barry doesn't offer the team enough to be in our strongest side. De Jong is the vastly superior defensive midfielder in several aspects, and I just don't get the Barry love-in on here at all. He rarely has a poor game, but when has he ever excelled in a blue shirt; just what does he offer us that NDJ doesnt? Slow, rarely wins a tackle, has become overly sloppy in possession (especially away from home) and offers us nothing going the other way. Like a previous poster said, I'd give Milner a few more games in central midfield once NDJ gets back, and hopefully he'll find his Villa form. Failing that, drop Yaya deeper and put silva at the head of the three, choosing 3 upfront from a possible 4 of Dzeko/balo/tevez and johno when they're all fit.
Central midfield is still a BIG issue, a position we still havent got the right balance in, and our poorer performances have all highlighted this.
