Garrido / Left Back

I think once we've got Lescott, there's little point in keeping Garrido. He's a decent player, but he doesn't suit the Premier League as he's just not good enough at defending.

With Bridge as first choice, we'd have McGivern, who looks a great prospect, looking to get nearer the first team. I'd much rather see us nurture a youth team player than have someone like Garrido on the bench blocking his progress. We'd also have Lescott and Barry, who can cover the position if needs be.

If there's a decent offer from Spain for him, I'd agree in principal and hold off allowing him to go til we've got Lescott - seems like the best outcome for all involved.

It`s no coincidence that all our left backs have appeared poor - they have had little outlet and cover. The signing of Barry should bring a huge improvement in their form.

I'd like to see McGivern there.

Excellent performance from the youngster last night. Very promising, but no Premiership experience. Could be a bit risky if Bridge gets injured?

Snatch their hand off, he is slooooowwwww, I was wondering if I'm the only one that thinks that Lescott would actually replace Bridge (especiially if we get Terry and / or Toure), I know Bridge gives it his best, but he is not a great defender, at the end of the day even if we sign all 3 players and start with Bridge at LB, we will still have healthy competition between our defenders.

I've been saying this for 2 weeks now but not many others can see it. Lescott at LB.

Garrido isn't a defender he is a midfielder played at LB and he is hopeless there...very slow and dives in hence penalties he gives away. Not his fault but he has to go.

I actually rate garrido but definately NOT as a left back. I would of liked to see him play left midfield away from home last season. He can cross a ball but would support the left back more than robinho, who could've had a more free role. This season however he's not needed so good luck to him wherever he ends up.
