garry cook lol what does everybody think of this fella

The Press have had it in for him from day one.God forbid City should be successful He's in a bar in New York at a City supporters meeting supporting City and this is news. He speaks his mind. We listen to the absolute bollocks Ferguson, Wenger etc spout, but trust City fans to be the fans that turn on their own.

He has been a big part of the revolution. The boot boys on here have a new whipping boy. Like Dunne, they won't be happy 'til he's gone. Anything decent he does is ignored, anything else is derided. So he is a bit of a knob sometimes. Who isn't?

Supporting City in public and putting an optimistic spin on the future is not a crime.

^^^^^^This

Admittedly there's been a few boo-boos but so what?

I just think of all the good he's done for the club and it far outweighs any mistakes... think of all those positive experiences people have spoke about, he seems like a genuinely caring guy who gets a little over enthusiastic now and again for OUR club.

Good on him for being at that bar in NYC, with our fellow supporters in the first place.

We need to remember it's the media who are out to get us (you can see that from alot of stories) and they will put a negative spin on anything that comes along!

Cook is the right man for the job... and thank our lucky stars that we don't have one of the other pricks that are out there!

Garry Cook is an embarrassment, the sooner that guys gone the better. He doesn`t do us any favours and makes me cringe with some of the stuff he comes out with.He should let the club progress without opening his mouth.

Good positive first post

...and he has waited four months to say it. Whipper could possibly follow his own advice!

The thing you have to remember is that on this occasion it was a City fan who unwittingly let this leak to the media (The Rag Comments) after being recorded on a mobile phone !! He was in that pub privately and his comments were his own and for the benefit of the audience (US City fans), does anybody really expect that behind closed doors he is going to say we will be beaten by the Rags and forever be in their shadow ? FFS cut the guy some slack, I would rather hear him talking us up and being positive rather than saying "When City were shit" like Hughes used to do !! And just for the record he say's what we all think and post on public forums everyday ie "We are gonna do this, we are gonna win that, top 4, Champions of Europe" etc !

Think he does a good job and has actually listened to us fans. On the down side he seems to be a liability with his gob while speaking in public which will only result in people resenting us more.

OK sure Cook has clearly done some good things to improve the "fan experience" as he might say, however these are outweighed by the constant gaffes which spew forth seemingly everytime he opens his mouth.

The problem seems to be that he hasnt learnt his lesson at all -he needs to think before he speaks and avoid making embarrassing and outlandish comments which give the media a massive stick with which to beat him (and the club).

Can he be moved into less high profile role perhaps, working behind the scenes, away from the limelight? Or failing that send him back to Nike...
