Foden pisses all over Sterling. Don’t get the over-hype which comes with Sterling when half the time he can’t beat his man and can’t hit a ball straight due to his sherrif’s badge feet. Apart from that he’s alright though!! Put it like this; I bet there’s not one City fan who’d pick Sterling over Fode

I don't think GC runs Pep particularly close as a student of the game but he is cunning enough to understand that his job doesn't depend on any great understanding of football but rather, as has been said many times, his ability to attract clicks. Whereas rags and dippers cannot resist commenting on stories which tell them how great their team is and how knowledgeable they are City fans are rather sensitive to baseless and stupid comments about our team and individual players. We are particularly sensitive to criticism of our own Prince Philip and comment doesn't come more baseless and stupid than than GC's. So we read the twaddle and told him where to get off but I just love to ponder on how many dippers actually watched the match, read the book and really believed or felt comforted by the nonsense that they been torn to bits at fortress Anfield by the 5th, 6th or 7th best young midfielder in the country. Or ever realised they were being played like a violin by a complete and utter ****.

Fair do’s. I guess it does look like I’m slagging him off. I’m not - I am saying he’s not as good as Phil Foden and he is over-hyped. Garth Crooks seems to think differently and I disagree. I am not full of hate towards anybody let alone any City players. Lots of times I’ve read criticism of players and thought similar to how you reacted so fair do’s like I said. However, you’ll never convince me that Sterling is a better footballer than Foden.
if we did sign him, I would make the 1st press conference invite only to give exclusives for those few in the press who give us fair coverage and ignore the rest
The other thing GC doesn't take in to account is the relative ages of the players. Jack Grealish is 25 - closer to Sterling's age than Foden's. Madison is 24 and Mount is 22. If Foden continues to improve, in a couple of years (by the time he's 22) none of these will be worthy of lacing his boots!For a start, Phil is not surrounded by "more gifted players" at City; he’s the most gifted of the lot. That’s according to Pep himself.
What the others are, is more experienced and more rounded.
And as others have said, how can he not be better than the three he listed? There is greater competition for a place in the starting XI at City than there is at Leicester, Villa and Chelsea. He has to work harder to earn his spot in the team.

Weird weird thing to post on a thread that has nothing to do with Sterling. Nothing in Crooks' article even suggests that he thinks Sterling is better than Foden either.
